In opening cork failed immediately & filtered steel mesh w/steel aerating funnel to wide bottom decanter then back into bottle through same funnel. Even after a couple of hours tasted like a fading quality wine. Most saved with vin vac. Next evening completely different very pronounced spicy burn and good astringency. Even with burn very good but not like any pinot I've ever had.

Confusing wine. At first it was disjointed, and then after a 1-2 hours just opened, the nose got very fragrant and smelled like delicious red strawberries and raspberries, but the wine never got flat out fantastic. Probably not worth the pricepoint. Also, it could probably still age for 5+ more years. It is a little hot for a pinot as well.

This is a well-made wine, but it's really not my style anymore. Lots of upfront fruit, candied and slightly hot too. There is some oak peeking out, and notes of cocoa. Doesn't say pinot to me, clearly Cali style. Really out of place after the Burg.

Decanted about 2 1/2 hours. The nose had a very nice mixture of forest floor, cherry, strawberry, and spicy floral notes. The palate was silky smooth, and started off with some tasty spice and clove flavors, which developed into sweet berry fruit and cherry. The tannins were solid and the finish lasted a long time.

Deep ruby red, good legs. Very smooth and generous wine.

Opened not decanted. At first a concord grape nose that changes to roasted meat / barbequed fat with a touch of dried apricots and tomatos; a dominant earthy taste on the palate filled with spices. Good, but would I buy again? Probably not.
