Starts plummy and slightly chocolaty, without being "over the top" then finishes with a crisp acidity of cinnamon spices and clove. That's what good ripe (but not over-ripe) CA Sangiovese is supposed to be. Ripe fruit but not over-ripe, with cinnamon/clove complexities. An excellent Sangiovese, esp for the price.
