Decanted for one hour. Decent nose of some spicy oak and subtle ripe dark fruit. Medium to full bodied, supple with smooth and firm tannins, showing balanced dark fruit (blackberries in the fore) with a touch of eucalyptus and gentle dusty kick on the finish. Not much heat despite 14,5%. Overall balanced and elegant for an aussie red. Great value at 15€ from Alko.

At our cabin in Finland. 14.5% ABV. Screw cap. The Wind was dark ruby in colour and offneres dark cherry, blueberry, blackberry, chocolate, coffee, intense mocha, spices, black pepper, lots of vanilla and some eucalyptus on the nose and palate, with medium-level acidity, lots of ripe, well-integrated tannin and very good length. The wine was ripe, full-bodied, thick and creamy and it took some aeration until it found balance. It had good concentration and complexity, but will need some time …

Aged for 14 months in French oak (20% new barrels, 80% 3-4 years old). 14,5% alcohol, 2 g/l residual sugar and 5,6 g/l acidity. Very dark and slightly translucent black cherry color with a subtly developed maroon hue. Ripe, restrained and somewhat savory nose with aromas of juicy blackberries, some dry woody tones, a little bit of tobacco, light alcohol tones and a meaty hint of pepper steak. The wine is smooth, ripe and full-bodied on the palate with quite …

QPR is unbelievable! Capsule = Perfect. Cork = Perfect. Cork looks like it could have been from v15. Lots of tannin left. While I agree it is on the back half of it’s drinking window, this has a few years left, if you choose. Drinking fabulously well now. Only one more left, unfortunately.

Deep dark purple color, full bodied and luscious with the aroma of white pepper that carries a little bite on the nose. Black currant, dried prunes, with licorice and white pepper on the finish all of which linger nicely.
