Well beyond expectations. Deep red, nose of wood and spice, muted fruit, soft tannins, long finish. Wow.

Jammy with luscious dark blueberry mouthful of fruit, a little syrupy and sweet but fairly balanced

Smooth mellow a bit woody. Beautiful fruit taste. Tannins low. Aged just right. I cant imagine it being better. Also tastes of delicious fruit the second night.

Softer tannins gives it a smooth texture. Still has a lot of fruit and assertiveness.

Met expectations. Full body, deep color, complex. Holds up very well 2-3 days after opening, so don't gulp in one sitting. Probably reaching its peak in 2019.

A dark, fruity malbec. Not heavy. Was excellent right after opening. And was even better on my third glass three hours later. Really enjoyed this wine. Wish I had another bottle.

Dark purple color, with modest aromas of earth and cedar. This is not a chewy Malbec, more of an elegant Malbec, which puts it in the lighter full bodied category; having said that, this is a delicious wine. Luscious blackberry-raspberry, dark chocolate and mocha all beautifully balanced. This is a mouth swishing delicious wine, still got guts for at least 2-3 years in the prime. Got 5 more!

Was fairly thin and no element stood out (fruit, tannin, finish, nose). Some earthiness, but mostly dark fruit. It did not taste beyond its time however.

Medium to dark purple with solid rim of purple. Black cherry with light spice after 15 mins. Plenty of acid acid fine tannins for lengthy finish.

N: RIPE plums with choc & notes of earth; POSS pyrazines? P: Nice, almost swtish frt met by some very finely tannic asringency which loses almost all its oomph by the LONG, very, VERY spicily, very, VERY finely tannic finish with a faint swtness. Certain parts of this seem at least somewhat unhinged, lending me to believe it's likely on the decline & SHOULD be consumed ASAP. 14.5% ABV; My VG-. 92 pts WS & their #36/Top 100 for '13, …

Pleasant fruity spicy, prickly on the tongue, easy drinking, pretty run of the mill for this class of Malbec, well made but not special.

N: Earthy, almost forest floor, poss plums way underneath? P: Med, poss MF, body; Rndish entry with almost swtish frt met by some astringent pucker which pretty much carries through the fairly LONG, very, VERY slightly spicy, slightly tangy finish. 14.5% ABV; 92 pts WS & their #36/Top 100 for '13, and 88 pts WE @ $19. [Though I suspect it could now WELL be OVER the hill, as of late Jun '19, wine-searcher still shows 4 sources from $17-$20.] …

Norton winery from Mendoza, seems a premium wine, proper maturing 100% french oak barrel + 10 months in bottles; variety 100% Malbec. Tasting: deep red color with purple hints; nose full of forest fruits, taste is mixed, black fruits and tobacco, touch of oak; overall complex; rich, balanced tannin; full bodied, 14,5 % vol. Good, elegant and classy label, not my top perhaps due to short decanting..

Private Preserve after Day 1 N: ATTRACTIVE plums atop flowers with choc undertones P: Med body; Nice frt, but only BRIEFLY, as a harsh finish soon settles in -- & only resolves by the END of the LONG finish. However, that may well have been exacerbated by the coleslaw I'd had previously, as it was NOT an issue with meat leftovers (skirt steak, sausages). // Day 2: Frt definitely > developed on the front, & harshness down considerably. Therefore, may …

Some confusion perhaps over producer here. Designated Gogenhiem, but the winery is Calle La Gloria (Gogenhiem uses, but they are producer). So this is Ocaso 100% Malbec - new at private store with above average price - this is a nice fairly standard expression of MB - Nose is dark with light+ oak and berry fruit. Palate is balanced with acid/light+tannin and then transitions to darker cherry/berry fruit that are a hint sour. A little oak note comes through on …
