Great wine however this bottle failed to impress as past ones, very lemon driven but not as expressive as I recall. Still very enjoyable even if not memorable this time around…

One of the best PF I’ve ever tried, almost Chablis like. Nice creaminess sliding in. Well balanced, good fruit, acid but not overpowering.

13% alcohol. Diam10 closure, relatively short but impressively dense. Straw coloured. The nose is infinitely delicate with white flowers and some yellow plum in evidence. Similarly refined in the mouth with very good length; some verbena too, and no perception of oak. This is quite a bit higher up the scale compared to what I normally get at this address, and I will not comment on value for money, but I find that there is a common theme of purity …

Light yellow. Crisp with toasty oak and almond. The oak is pronounced but well integrated with the acidity balancing it out. Citrus and a bit of vanilla on the palate.

Needs time to open up but the last glass is the best. Decant will be compulsory for the next bottle.

Louis Jadot 2018 Vintage en Primeur Barrel Tasting (Brasserie Margeaux - Chicago IL) : Walk around tasting. From barrel sample that was assembled in the fall and shipped to the US then. Ripe start with lemon curd and apple, brighter, more minerally finish. Very good length. 90+ point potential.

Second wine at Xmas dinner. Pale lemon color. Unremarkable white floral and green fruit bouquet. Dry, medium acidity, light body, unremarkable taste reflecting the bouquet. Couldn’t taste much of the oak. Short finish.

Rounder on the palate with only 30 percent new oak, which allows good minerality to come through.
