Even though it’s 300km away, it’s that PEC funk to it. Leesy and atypical. Bright with substantial weight.

In der Nase etwas Aubergine, dazu Earl Grey (sowohl ausgeprägt Schwarztee als auch Bergamotte), Orangenschale und mit ganz viel Luft auch etwas helles Steinobst. Über zwei Tage ist das stetig im Wandel und stets spannend: Es wird mal mehr, mal weniger zitrisch, mal etwas maritim, mal etwas kräutrig; ist dann insgesamt sehr komplex. Am Gaumen hat das einen sehr festen Griff mit ganz fein schmirgelnder Phenolik. Auch haptisch erinnert das also an schwarzen Tee und auch hier ist es zitrisch. …

Clear medium gold; clean medium plus nose of popcorn, cheese and pear; dry; high acidity; medium alcohol; medium plus body; medium plus to pronounced flavour intensity; palate is tarter and follows nose; medium plus to long finish; drinking very well now but has the potential to develop for another 5+ years; blinded as Bordeaux white

Blind. Nose Fine nose, spicy, green herbs, pepper, sage, oak spices. Palate dry and peppery, smoky, resin, pine needles, licorice. Medium finish/length. Not very complex – yet an ok bottle of Chardonnay from outside France.

Very good. Fruity but not overpowering and still very crisp.

One of the best Chardonnays I've had. Lots of matchsticks with a long finish.

Textured, dense and mouthfilling. Fresh acidity, ripe orchard fruits but fairly mineral and savoury. Lots going on.

Pours a light gold in the glass and let it sit for an hour before having with a butter and sage gnocchi and butter milk roast chicken. On the nose: bruised apples, pears, and a toasty brioche note On the palate: this chardonnay carries a lot of weight despite no hint of oak showing up. The acidity is great with Meyer lemons, Honeycrisp apples and hint of spice and nuttiness. Great stuff from Pearl Morissette!
