A beautifully balanced Barolo that is aging very well.

Beautiful Barolo with just the right amount of age on it although it could certainly go another 5 years easily and maybe improve a little. Followed over two nights, it gained a little weight with air, and showed lots of cherries, rose petals and older oak spice notes. Tannins and acidity in equilibrium. Medium-weight wine, a nice companion to food. Should have bought a lot more way back when (as it was an amazing deal on WTSO years ago), and …

I've had a bunch of these and for some reason this was the best of the lot for me - classic aromas of dried roses, balanced acidity. I think this wine will go for miles, but I'll never know (!)

Excellent varietally true barolo - crafted on the bold side, this is quite full for nebbiolo, but enjoyable and cruising at almost a decade.

This was tricky over several days, at times perfect with a char-crust wood fired pizza, roast chicken, etc. while other times too much raisin, wood, and fairly rough tannins. Liked not loved, the flourishes of mint and violets were welcome, and I think another 2 - 3 years this could be in full balance, or maybe it takes 15+ years from vintage, really hard to say.

Beautiful nose, somewhat disappointing on the palate, probably just needs some time to develop.

Orangy-red. Beautiful Barolo nose with an emphasis on violets. Definitely made in the old-fashioned style with the flavors of aging in timeless oak ovals. Plenty of OOMPH in the back end from alcohol and tannins. Wish all reds were this lovely. First tasting 6/3/2016: Totally agree with Purslane's assessment. What a wonderful wine! Drinkable now for those who are impatient, yet will reward 5-10 years of cellar aging. This is a Barolo "for the rest of us" who can't (or …

Medium(-) ruby, orange tinge in rim, viscous tears @14.5% abv. Medium aromas of dark fruit, tar, licorice, cedar and barnyard. Dry, medium-medium (+) acidity, medium(+) alcohol and medium super ripe tannin. Concentrated palate of ripe black fruits, jammy (slightly sweet due to high alcohol). Good length with bitter sweet hot (port-like) finish closing with dry tannins. Well balanced, power over elegance. A lovely medium-bodied straight-forward Barolo.

Very few young Barolos have the concentration and drinkability of this wine without austere tannin or mouth stripping acidity. Dark red color short of black. Red cherry nose with a touch of rose flowers. Supple, dense, and juicy in the mouth, with an incredibly rich, smooth, and gliding finish.
