Medium ruby color; cherries, plums, and oak on the nose; high acidity, medium tannins, tastes like sour cherries, slate, and pomegranates with a long finish. Pairs well with a reverse seared pork chop. Crisp and fruity. I like it. Nellie likes it with pork. It's a little to acidic without food. I think this wine is a good value.

No-one tasted this beautiful wine on CT for over 10 years... Grenache and Carignan. Long lived bastid! 50th Anniversary Sangre de Toro from 2003. Now 20 yrs of age. Getting there, and lovely. Has everything you'd want in a mature Southern Europe wine, just not 100 points. But 90 for sure. Torres for King!!!

Root Day - Translucent garnet core out to a medium crimson edge. Nose is light red florals, spice, cherry and mineral. On the medium weight palate there’s flavours of red fruit, spice, red florals, fresh cooking herbs and minerals. There’s just enough tannin to give it structure and medium plus acidity to keep it fresh. Medium length finish has the red florals, red fruit and spice continuing. Drink now - extremely versatile for everything from salmon to mushrooms/sausages to roast …

Bravo !

We liked this one... three drinkers: two 90s, one 89. A big, smooth Grenache with a bit of sweetness, no edges. Cherry on the palate, no evident tannin now. A nice easy-to-drink PnP for $13 at Total Wine.

With a little more time under screw-cap, this has developed into a recognizably grenache food wine. Dusty overtones, good acidity

Minerals (licorice) and oak on the nose. Medium bodied, quite smooth and easy drinking, delivering some dark fruit with a strong aspect of salt licorice and oak. Gentle tannins. A pretty solid wine every vintage but a bit boring.

Stinky nose, thin wine, with excess tannins, almost sour. Cheap and tastes like it - but doesn't taste much like the Grenache it is supposed to be.

Juicy, fruity, ripe, easy drinking But I would prefer to have the old SdT with the plastic bull attached to the capsule and a lot more character

Still nice to drink and an excellent liquid to use for my "famous" smoked brisket. I was surprised at the depth and complexity.

Alas, I have no more... Selma did not like this, too dry for her. Not really my style of red, either but, cetainly worth the education. Would I buy more ? Yes

Nice, dry red that, for the price, I'll be sure to keep around in volume while it's available. I really enjoyed it. Got another year that wasn't nearly as good, so I'll stick to the '03 from now on.

Not bad. No formal notes, but the wife and I like this as a cheap daily drinker.

I'm a Sangre de Toro fan; it's not the best stuff in the world, but is very dependable. Works well with a variety of foods even though it has a fair bit of kick. Better with more substantial food, say steaks or thick pasta sauce. Not bad on its own, either, especially not for $8.50 a bottle (and I've seen it for much less.) A little dry on the palate, fair amount of tannins, but balanced.

Drank over 5(!) days while TK was away; held up much better than expected - actually was still going strong on day 5. Classic garnacha taste of cherry. Bitter, not in a bad way. Had an unpleasant aftertaste at first, but that blew off by day 2. Outperformed expections, but I wouldn't go out of my way to have it again.
