Beautiful looking and drinking. Perfect on a bitterly cold late winter day.

Still a wine drinking in its prime. This is the last of my 4 bottles and wish I had more. Dark purple to the edge with a very expressive nose of black and blue berries. Sweet fruit with a long smooth and balanced finish, tannins fully integrated now. No point in waiting further.

2019 Los Olivos Trip; 11/14/2019-11/17/2019 : As a Syrah drinker, one smell and I’m in love. All the classic New World Syrah hallmarks: oil and olive and dark fruit and all wrapped in a luxurious texture. Way less tannin than the 2012 Denner Dirt Worshipper we just drank; almost tastes fully resolved, but I suspect this wine has been stable and tasting smooth like this for some time. 92+

LSGRV 2018 @Mashomack. Decent wine but we had it after two outstanding syrahs from Gramercy Cellars. This seemed to have some fizz but that may have been my palate. Anyway solid wine. Drink up!

Ripe nose with tamarind, brown sugar. Great energy, acidity, balance. Fruit is ripe and in balance with other elements. Medium tannins. Really tasty and should hold a few more years.

Dark purple color. Explosive nose of dark fruit, lavender, ginger (brief whiff), and spice. On the palate, this wine showcases boysenberry and plum with a tart apple skin note and some lavender on the finish. There is balanced acidity as well as some noticeable tannin throughout this full-bodied wine. While not terribly complex, this wine was well made and held its own with pierogies as well as a grilled lettuce salad topped with blue cheese dressing.

The usual scrumptious nectar. Thick and vibrant, saturated with ripe dark fruits, roasted nuts, and charred meat. Peppercorns, truffle, and brambles. Just how I like my fruit bombs. 5+11+17+8= 91

89 with potential to score higher. Big meaty & smokey wine- a little overboard, but after 4 hours of air the fruit snuck forward a little.

This was just delightful, from the first sip to the last. A captivating aroma drew me in, and the plush texture and elongated finish kept it going. This is a full, deep, meaty style; which maintains a loftiness to the mouthfeel. Me: aroma - 93-94, flavor 90-91; wife 92

Agree with Nanda and GlenviewGSW's reviews. This is a fantastic example of how good Cali Rhone from Paso Robles can be.

Almost black. Dark purple with a nose of tar and smoked berries. This is a gutsy, rich, tar like wine in it's flavors. Burnt asphalt, some olive, and smoked game dominate here. Some herbs and earth on the finish. Really nice.

W clam/chorizo pasta. Very good syrah. Nice dark color, good fruity nose and on palate grwat balance of everything. Good finish. This will live for many more years but it is great this fresh.

Big, rich but balanced syrah that marries rich dark fruits with a long and soft finish. Nicely done. Should improve with age although tannins are ok now.

Notes after 2 hours in the glass. Very dark ruby, 90% opaque with huge, very slow legs and no sediment. Profound smoked and savory meats upon opening that transition through a green herbal door before landing with a bushel of black fruit, bramble, tomato, and earthy funk. Big texture and body with fine tannins and smoky fruit across the palate. Chewy and dense. Floral and tobacco notes creep in with more air. This is just how I like my McPM. …

A solid Les Galets with nice notes of berries and pepper. Very smooth and soft tannins. Overall, a great wine that is ready to be enjoyed.

Medium body, super nose, a little bitter in the finish, good acid for a Syrah - went great with lamb shanks.

Thrilling stuff in the full throttle Cali Rhone style and a crazy value. Nose just explodes with black pepper, smoke, meat and black fruit. Palate is big and richly fruited. Decent balance with enough underlying acidity framing the large scale palate. Loads and loads of black pepper (reminiscent of a '03 Pax Castelli Knight). Served with a chill and delicious with spicy ribs.

Truly enjoyed this Syrah. I went looking for something smokey, and was guided to this. While we did not actually taste anything smokey (and I'd love a recommendation if anybody has one!), what we did find was some fruit dominated by black pepper. Paired perfectly with our meal, and since black pepper has always been another flavor we love, I ran back to get more!

Syrah is starting to emerge as my favorite varietal. So varied and interesting from all corners of the globe. PnP'd. This is young, but excited to try my first McP Myers. Smokey and deep with black fruits washing beneath high toned reds. Palate is meaty, yet delicate across the tongue. At this time, the alcohol is protruding a bit, which takes a toll on the overall balance. Finish dominated by earthiness as fruit fades relatively quick. Dollar for dollar, a …

14.2% ABV (which is fairly low compared to previous vintages). Tasted over a couple of days. Opaque dark garnet in the glass. Overwhelming meaty and oaky aromas on the nose. Full bodied on the palate with more black fruit in evidence, but also a continuation of the oak/meat combo. This didn't seem to be in a happy place. I'd suggest letting it age at least a couple years to see if it integrates.
