I happened to get invited to a industry tasting. This was NOT on the menu. But winemaker Lorenzo Gatteschi saw how much I liked their other offerings, he drug this out from under the table. Oh my. Chianti made in the highlands of Tuscany. I only got a case. Made in the true spirit of Italian Chianti Riservas.

500ml carafe from bottle over lunch at Bernardi's. Appearance is clear, medium intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of warm moist dark earth, sour red cherries, black cherries, licorice, toasty oak. Developed. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol, high tannins that start smooth but end off chewy, full body.
