Drank this over 2 days; good, but tight on the first; nice nose of lemon and lees, but a bit austere; better day two with more depth and the nose showed some floral and orchard fruits; good value, especially for 08

(Disgorged in 2014, 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay) Minerals and citrus notes dominating at first, and only after some time in the glass comes more roasted coffee notes. Nice intensity with red apples and a refreshing lime zest bitterness on the lengthy finish. This is gaining in the glass and should reward long time cellaring. (Best 2023-2038)

Good. This PnP was better on night one than two, even if I enjoyed both given the different facets being featured. Persimmon, butterscotch, some minerals and average complexity. Nothing too serious makes for a nice, casual opener. recommended

(Disgorged in 2020, 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay) Tight on the nose at first, but opens up with citrus flowers, butterscotch and a touch of raspberries. Nice and fresh citrus acidity on the palate with a very nice and lengthy finish showing a apple fruitiness. Very nice at start, but maybe lacking something on the short finish. (Best 2023-2038)

Just released. Tasted at Pommery. Citrus dominated by grapefruit. Quince, white flowers, orange blossom, roasted nuts. Rich and dense. Lots of Brioche and buttery toast. Very rich yet elegant. Creamy and honeyed. A bit like a glass of creme brûlée. Late release worth it as it is aged perfectly. Good stuff. Pineapple, apricot and minerals after 30 minutes.

From magnum purchased through Lay and Wheeler. I found this wine to be a bit 'hollowed out'. It didn't have much fruit even though the colour suggested a relatively youthful wine. It was drinkable, but there was a sharp sulphur/bitterness on the end that was off-putting. Unless you get this very cheaply, I'd pass.

Light-medium gold color. Drank 2 glasses over 2 hours. This started off slowly and built through the evening as it warmed. This shows a fair bit of yeast both on the nose and palate, fruit is predominantly citrus/lemon, the palate starts off pretty chalky with minerals and quite tart, but eventually rounds out quite nicely and softens its edges. Medium finish. Started at around 89 and finished a solid 90pts.

Pale gold color. Drank 2 glasses over 45 minutes. Nose has pleasant yeast notes, mineral, lemon and pear. Palate is fairly lithe, tart pear, lemon, minerals, toast. Crisp and clean.

Still a fairly youthful pale straw color. Nose showed some citrus, green apple, and sweet dough. Similar on the palate, smooth bubbles, just a tiny bit sweet but still nicely balanced; just a hint of mature honey. Long and pleasant finish of apple and pineapple, leaving that nice ocean air saltiness on the lips. Very tasty, though probably to be consumed soon. Much better than the previous bottle opened a few years ago, which was quite tart. Either that bottle …
