Still having all its faculties. Not a huge wine. Just starting to decline.

Sorry about your luck Wine Canuck as this is big and complex. Lots of stewed cherry, cola, and spice. Very new world and more '09 if you know what I mean. Time will tell but there's very good acidity and lots going on. Should be fun to watch over the next 6-8 yrs.

This medium ruby wine is somewhat shy at this point. The nose does indeed open after 1-2 hours in glass, but at best the intensity is moderate. Rose petals, cranberries, coriander and earth characterize the aromas and flavors. The wine is medium-bodied and tart on the palate, with medium-weight, slightly dry tannins. 5 Blind Pinots on a Thursday Night (Dave's House) : (Blind Pinot #2) Immediately the nose on this wine is clearly reductive/rubbery; smells like an old worn out rubber tire. If you can get past that there is a decent red burg hiding underneath. Showing notes of animal fur with fruit which is on the ripe side; dried cranberries, cherry blasters candy.
