m Kern zeigte sich die Farbe des North Valley Pinot Noirs überdurchschnittlich dunkel und von mittlerer Transparenz. Der Wasserrand erschien mir ein wenig erweitert zu sein. Doch letztlich gab es nicht viel an der Färbung zu entdecken. Die Nase eröffnete mir ein weiteres, sehr von allen bisherigen Oregon Pinot Noirs abweichendes, insbesondere für einen 2007er, Geruchsbild. Dieses war stark geprägt von matschigen und ziemlich reifen dunklen Kirschen, einem Mehr an Sedimenten von dunkler Holzwürze, vermeintlicher schwarzer und sehr würziger Erdigkeit …

Lighter vintage due to bad weather; more structure and acidity than fruit forward, short finish; perfectly palatable and it was a soft vintage so this is a decent effort all things considered. Like the last bottle, give this some air and it pops, really very good.

Initially savory and a bit light; over the course of an hour or so it picked up some complexity, showing cola, plums, pomegranite and earth flavors; slightly sweet in a good way and nice finish. A nice easy drinking pinot showing well for tough 2007 vintage in oregon.

This magnum was perfect for the Thanksgiving meal. Plenty to go around, and its silky graceful texture with some spice, fruit and good balance, provided a fine compliment to the turkey dinner. Ready to drink now.

A real gem of a value, this wine is an appellation blend that can compete with a lot of single vineyard pinot noirs. Weekend Before Thanksgiving in the Willamette Valley, Oregon (Oregon) : A deep and earthy funk appears on the nose looming over dark cherry scents. The fruit is nice and deep aon the palate with crisp cranberry flavor and acidity supported by some even tannins. A bit of heat comes through.
