Tandem Pinot Noir Pisoni Vineyard

My expectations were low with a 19 year old California pinot. They were very much exceeded. Bright, translucent cherry red in color. A light and lively nose of cherries and soft spice notes. The palate showed crisp, bright fruit. Strawberry, cherries, cranberries. Smooth tannins, nice acidity, perfect balance. A moderate finish of bright red fruits. This wine gets better with air. I suspect it may have a couple more years of good drinking.

Time has done nothing good to this wine, which was living in a temp-controlled facility since it's purchase. The Pisoni nose becomes evident, but only after 30+ minutes, yet the fruit has left a hole in it's recession...a tad out of balance, showing some ETOH, just not what I wanted in my last renditon of this wine. Dark and brooding Pisoni notes remain, but it can't put it all together.

My third bottle this year and another winner. Lots of caramel and red fruit on the nose. Palate features austere red fruit, cranberry, a fading cirtus acidity, notes of orange peel. Finishes clean and seems somehwat youthful...I wouldn't be surprised if this was still tasty in five years.

Wow. Two winning bottles of this in the last three months. Killer aromatics here with forest floor, citrus scents, red fruit, spices, it goes on...Palate is loaded with red fruit, a bright cirtusy acidity, notes of cranberry, orange peel, some caramel sweetness.This is a beauty. Have one bottle left that I will try to not touch for a year or so for the sake of science.

Color is light red and cloudy. Nose-a beauty! Pine, earth, flowers, red fruit, spice, it goes on...Palate is rich and supple, notes of cranberry, vanilla, balanced by a lively acicidty. Finishes is long and persistent. In summary: This rocks.

Still going strong with lush fruit, firm backbone and excellent finish. Stacks up with the best 2000 new world pinots I've had.

Blueberry, maple syrup, Cointreau, orange zest nose; seductive, rich, spicy, orange, chocolate, black cherry palate with a touch of pepper; medium-plus finish
