Best bottle yet. So disappointed in the QPR of this wine for all these years. Now, the last bottle (of six) is just fabulous. Delicious, complex, and so-o-o silky.

Really enjoyed this last night, even with a relatively short decant. Doesn't seem to be heading downhill anytime soon. Still lots of structure, along with ample fruit and some tertiary flavors.

Cherry, espresso, chocolate, licorice, tannins and earth. We had this with roast chicken and potatoes and it was a great pairing. We seem to have much more luck with these bottles than others do. These were $15 on sale (plus shipping) and they were a huge bargain, too. Alas, my last bottle.

Past its prime. Time has not been helpful since my last try 4 years ago. Nose is cherry, mocha. Palate fruit has further faded with astringent tannins dominating. Classically styled Bordeaux that never had the fruit to outlast the hefty bitter tannin load.

Cherry, espresso, chocolate, licorice, tannins and earth. We had this with Beyond Beef burgers (but its a better pairing with chicken) and roasted , herbal potatoes. Excellent withr he potatoes and on its own. Drink now. Thanks Denis for a great wine. (And rest in peace)

My last bottle of a case. I've had very mixed reactions to each bottle and they've varied over the years. This bottle is showing fairly well, and there's a very strong eucalyptus-ish scent on the nose, playing against some pencil shavings and perhaps some black liquorice. The tannin has finally yielded, and while there's not an abundance of fruit, it's within an appropriate range for an old-school Bordeaux. A nice food wine overall with medium acid and tannin at this …

Decanted 2 hours. Much improved since the first bottle 3½ years ago. Red and black fruits, vanilla, cherry pits, and a tangy combination of tannins and acidity. Tannins are still pretty drying, so high-fat food will help. 13% ABV is also a plus.

Showing savory, floral and beautiful fruit notes of cassis, overlayed with graphite and warm spice notes. First place at our Left Bank Bordeaux tasting. It's taken some time for this wine to come out and show its pedigree and stuffing.

This bordeaux no longer has any fruit but it has tons of secondary attributes and structure. Taste great with a fresh steak.

I’m hoping it’s just in a dumb stage. It was showing almost nothing. Well-made, balanced but nothing remarkable.

Très correct, encore une bonne trame, pas beaucoup de fruit, clairement à boire mais pas mort.

Decanted an hour and a half at this writing. There were more bright, fresh fruits earlier as it opened. Now, it seems more dominated by tobacco, leather, and baked fruit (prunes). I sense some reduction on the nose, so I'm wondering if it can age further. The tannins seems rather drying now, so perhaps it just needs a few more hours of air (NB: this happened with another wine 2 nights ago where I noticed only dry tannins early on, …

I’m really digging this wine. Not fruit forward certainly, but balanced and nuanced. Love it. It just has more complexity than much higher priced wines. Not for fruit bomb lovers, but I There is fruit still.

87-89: Interesting twist with this wine since the previous bottle. It has gone all Bordeaux, very lean, the fruit and oak from before is integrated. It's good, but definitely leaned out, more classical in presentation with an above average finish. It's good, not sure if it will continue to evolve, but the acid and tannins are still there to some degree, so it may be good for a couple more years.

Mostly consistent with previous bottle but fruit definitely starting to fade a bit. Nose shows more pepper and cigar box with plum notes. Similar flavors on the palate with a mix of earthy soil, slightly vegetal and dark plum. Medium acidity, medium to medium+ tannin. Definitely more of a food wine and paired very well with Tuscan pot roast. Would probably drink up in the near term if holding any if you still want to have some fruit left in …

Drinking quite well, with notes of cherry, espresso, chocolate and a touch of caramel. Just perfect with our roast, herbal chicken. Drink in the next couple of years. Great value at $16-$20

Finally becoming a very interesting wine. Earthy and densely black and red fruited, with very striking mineral notes of iron, graphite and wet stones, and nicely spicy. I'm sure this will still improve.

Deep dark center, red/scarlet rim with some signs of age. Leafy, chocolate, blackberries, black cherries, sweet. Smooth, iron, black currant, modest tannin and acid, nutty short finish. Good Bordeaux, drinking well now, not sure where it will go.

The balance of our Coravin-preserved wine. Tasty and showy, with notes of mostly dark fruits (cherry and blackberry), some espresso beans, tobacco, earth and light tannins. Very tasty with our roast herbal chicken. (I tried it with the pork and fennel sausage from last night but it wasn't a good pairing). Thisis classic Left Bank Bordeaux - and is why we age Fench wine. Very good qpr for our $16 purchase prixe ($21 delivered, including tax). Drinking well now but …
