Cat pee but with oak, gooseberry, Tart acidity, but smoothed a little by the oak, alcohol burn, so medium plus acidity but tempered, medium body, kind of silky Lingering juiciness, like buttered apples about to made into a pie 3.4

Wonderful balance not too bright and acidic as some popular Sauvignon blancs. One of my favorites and will enjoy tonight with rotisserie chicken from my grill

Color - Light golden yellow Nose - Grapefruit, tropical fruit, mango, honeydew melon. Palate - Grapefruit up front, tropical fruit, pineapple, lemon, a bit of spritz with bubbles forming on the glass. Not quite Marlboro style but approaching it. Nice bottle of wine for the price.

No contemporaneous notes. This bottle seemed to have less sweetness than the last one we had, a good thing for this wine. Slight bitterness in the finish. A good basic sauvignon, albeit nothing special.

I liked this SB, crisp and refreshing. Slight oakiness but minimal tannins. Light to medium body for a white, notes of citrus and green grass on the nose and palate. Short finish.

Color - Light to medium straw yellow with a hint of green. Nose - Pineapple, grapefruit and lime. Palate - Grapefruit up front followed by lighter tropical fruits, peach, pear and maybe lychee. There was a touch of spritz later in the finish. Could use a bit more acid.

Light yellow-straw but with medium intensity; not at all transparent. Delightfuly nose of fresh grapefruit and lemon. Medium bodied with a nice thick mouthfeel reminiscent of a chardonnay. Definite stone fruits, in particular peach, with some nice minerality that gave a bit of lime soda at times. Tastes lower alcohol than it is. Hard to imagine a better experience from a $9 bottle.

Good $11 Sonoma Sauvignon Blanc 2018 Ferrari-Carano Fumé Blanc. Sharp mid-gold; citrus, pyrazine, boxwood nose; mid-body; balanced; soft acids; some residual sugar (?); long semi-lush finish. As noted before, good reception, party wine.

Not a big fan of Cali SB as they typically cant get the acidity right. This has lots of tropical fruit and has good fruit balance. I would prefer my SB from the Loire, but at $11, and well chilled, this is good on a hot night.

I am generally not a fan of California SB but this is an exception (still not a wine I will ever love) but it is so balanced with just the right amount of fruit and acid. Basic but if you stop at the grocery store this is always reliable.

Im a dedicated hunter for QPR, so i was pleased to find this wine. While it lacks the balance and flavor of a Merry Edwards, say, (a high standard, I know) it's an enjoyable wine, with no offensive nose or sour aftertaste often found with less expensive SBs. Yes, it's a little sweet. But I'll serve it without reservation.

Wow, nice wine for $12. Light color and body. A bit of a mineral nuance, which was nice, but also a bit on the sweet side (it is from California, of course). It's certainly an easy drinking wine as most of the bottle was gone before we realized it. This will turn out to be our go-to inexpensive white for the summer.

Super Bowl Weekend; 2/1/2014-2/2/2014 (Washington, DC) : Smells of honeysuckle, white peach and mint. The palate shows a creamy texture, as always, but the acid is crisp and lively. White peach, green apple mixes with notes of mint and rosemary. Really tangy and even a bit of limestone. A slightly off-dry peach nectar flavor on the finish. A crowd-pleaser for sure.

This wine is the palest straw in the glass with aromas of muted citrus and tropical fruits. On the palate, pronounced pineapple, lemon and mango with a creamery finish. Typical Cali SB without the gooseberry, green onion and grass. Flavor profile is similar to the better Honig and Greystack from the same vintage. At around $13 a bottle , it has an excellent QPR.

Ferrari Carano has a good track record of making a solid, value-priced Fume Blanc and the 2012 is par for the course. Light straw appearance. Fresh, lively aromas of stonefruit, guava, gooseberries, melon, grapefruit, with touches of florals and grass. Sleek, mid-bodied palate, with crisp acidity, flinty minerality, and a touch of warmth on the grapefruit finish.

Check your beak if you don't get a peach rush on the nose. Clear, light straw to pale in color. Fantastic, big aroma of ripe peach, orange blossom and other tropical notes. On the palate this is med body, med acid, stone, gravel, lime, lime pith, not as much peach as on the nose, subtle spice as well. Well worth the price this summer.
