Wonderful bouquet. Color is deep with no bricking. Still lots of fruit. Smooth tannins and nice acidity. Really enjoyed this wine.

Beginning to brick, fruit is a bit tired, no real tertiary development, though structurally this is still quite robust. Shy nose with slightly tawny aromas leading. Full bodied with blackberry, dried cherry and licorice. Medium plus tannin, finishes with dried fruit and cedar. For my taste I'd have preferred this with more strident tannins and fresher fruit. Not bad, but seems likely to lose vibrancy before tannins fully resolve. Was hoping for some serious 'cigar box' character, but didn't get …

Wine still going strong! Tasting great with typical cab flavors with balanced alcohol. Drank over a week and I didn't take any detailed notes. Wish I had more of this vintage, but everyone know the story! Another great Peter Wellington bottle of wine!!

Took the bottle to Hilton Head when visiting friends. Opened the bottle to let if breathe for 2 hours. Wow, what an excellent well balanced wine. Didn't take specific notes, but hope the other vintages of Karen Vineyard will be this good.

The cork was completely ruined ... I ended up having to push it into the bottle, and pour the wine through my finest-mesh strainer. Thought it mighta been a goner, but it was anything but. Just a luscious Sonoma cab, at a great price point.

Filtered (there was a little sediment) and aerated then decanted for about 90 minutes. It needed all the above, which I routinely do anyway. Excellent with grilled tenderloin. Medium + finish, beautiful dark color.

Garnet-tinged maroon, with some brown visible while swirling. Black cherry, cedar, and earth nose. Full bodied, cranberries, blackberries, pepper, well integrated dry tannins, dark chocolate, mint, and a really nice, really long sweet finish. Delicious yet a tad subtle, with a lot of time left.

Opened almost an hour before dinner, poured through Vinturi. Wonderfully integrated, although peppery spice was a bit much at first. Probably could use at least a few more years to fully balance out. My other bottle will sit in the cellar for minimum 5-10 years more. I enjoy every one of Peter's wines that I have opened.

I wish I had stored this wine properly, it had the slightly cooked aftertaste and little to no nose on it. Went well with food as it covered up the cooked flavor that I hate.

Popped and poured making dinner. Initial "green" notes when first opened. Flavors integrated over the course of the evening. A decent "food" Cab.

Better than I was expecting. Good solid Cabernet, easily worth the $20 I laid down for it. This particular winery is a favorite of the folks over at wine.woot, and I've discovered that you can't always trust the whims of the crowd. Still, this cab is decent enough, with the solid dark undernotes that a good cab ought to have.

Blah. I was highy disappointed. Nose was light and flavors transparent. Tannins were easy to drink.

Tasted like traditional syrah should taste. Nose of must with dark colors.
