If you are looking to be snooty about a wine with a classic homemade smash burger, this is it. A nice balance of bright and dark fruit, earth, and spice.

May have let this one sit a bit too long. Very expressive nose of black cherry, cinnamon, mint, and even some aged balsamic after a 90-minute decant. Continued to evolve in the glass. Sun-warmed red cherries and herbs in the mouth with more balsamic. Medium weight with a medium/long finish. Enjoyable but lacked depth and power. Wanted more stuffing as it rang just a bit hollow. No fireworks but still a solid sipper. Drink now.

Very nice surprise. Nice bright fruit and touch of earth with great expressive nose. Drinking very well at present.

great juice. wow. earth and funk with bright tart cherry and plum. tannins are there but still soft enough to be very enjoyable. Thirteen years and in a great spot to enjoy it now!

aging edges with white bubbles; earth and a bit of barnyard to start on the nose but this quickly blew off; intense red cherry with plenty of fine tannins and acidity in a good way; background of rhubarb and umami/earth; this is potent but has some elegance; surprisingly good.

liked the fruit on the nose. Chewy and bold. Lots of life left but I have waited too long on many BDM's and been dissappointed. This is solid now and should be even better in 1 - 3 years.

Purchased at Pasta Nostra, an excellent Italian restaurant in South Norwalk, CT. Decanted at restaurant which immensely helped the wine open up over 1 1/2 hours. Dark garnet in color. Pleasant nose of earth, brick, smoke with good acidity. Balanced palate with a fait amount of structure. Would be better in a few more years. Enjoyed by all

decanted one hour; earth and dark red fruit nose; brooding dusty sweet dark red fruit; ample tannin but incidental to the fruit; forest floor is prominent but not funky; good acidity; intermed between new and old style; has time though enjoyable now

Pleasant acidity, nice core, light raisins, tar, dark chocolate on the finish. Still oaked, even not in the obtrusive way. Picked 2 more bottles after dinner. Should let them sit for another 3 years minimum.

Restrained balsamic, cherry and caramel nose; tight, tart palate with undertones of caramel; medium finish
