lowermost neck, bottom of cork broke but OK, huge amount of fine sediment, careful decanting necessary, next time stand up a week in advance, decanted 3-4 hours, necessary, a huge robust wine, distinct legs on the glass, nearly opaque black-red colour tending more to purple than brown, still youthful, nose rich, warm, a little extracted, concentrated rich warm palate, marked acidity and drying tannins at the finish, a bit of a bruiser, went very well with the rich venison and …

Pulled from my cellar. Not sure where/when I purchased it. Wine is showing very nicely now. Fruit forward with tannins resolved.

Not too far past peak, still drinking well. One of my notes indicated that this is 55% Merlot and 45% Cab Sauvignon, and another said 69% Merlot and 31% Cab Franc. I believe the later, as there were some espresso notes and other flavors that said “Cab Franc.” A great value (under $20 on pre-release), but not a life-changing wine.

Still very tight and closed when first opened. After a 3 hour decant, this starts to open up a little bit. Graphite/pencil lead on the nose with some hints of dark berry fruit. In the mouth quite drying, but underneath the tannins and structure there is a delicious core of dark stone fruit, wet concrete, tobacco. This needs a lot more time, revisit in 5 to 10 years.

Nice value Right Bank. I thought it would be heading on the downside, but I think I was wrong and this still is on the up-swing. Juicy merlot, with tobacco and earth to add complexity. Did much better with decanting a few hours.

Plummey; blackberry; green; some fruit with tannic dry backbone; light tight finish; needs 10 years; still early for the 05s.

Earthy and austere with some soft and rather rich blackberry; soft with a moderate finish.

Elegant nose, redcurrant and plum with a note of roses and smoke and tertiary characteristics such as earth and leather. Medium bodied with a delicate aromatic palate, also notes of bell pepper. The tannin structure is coarse but feels more supple towards the finish. Aftertaste is medium long, also with a green note to it.

Opened 10 days ago. After 18 hours of aeriation back to the cellar with a Vacuvin wine saver. It was with a lot of doubts I reopened it today. But it was really a very nice surprise. Lots of dark fruit and leather on the palate, medium to full bodied.

Good wine for the price, but the other one tonight was cheaper & better. For me, not very interesting- well balanced, nice wine overall, but lacking in interest. J liked it better than me.

Popped and poured and it continued to improve over the course of 4 hours. I get chocolate on both the nose and the palate. Medium to full-bodied with sweet tannins that still show some finesse. I think the best showing of this wine yet.

Color: Dark purple. Nose: Dark berries. Full bodied, aromatic and balanced. Flavor: Smooth on the palate. Silky smooth. Fruit, some tobacco and cedar box flavors. Moderate tannins, but this wine is drinkable now. Probably cellar-able for 5+ years. Great length and balance on the finish which is mostly composed of purple tasting fruits.

nose: heavy vegetal, asparagus, mouth: solid tannins, full vegetal through mid-palatte and finish, nice potential for a few years down the road - great QPR on this one
