A little oxidized but decent fruit which dissipated in the glass but a pleasant and enjoyable wine.

At its peak now. Notes of mint, lavender, sweet tapenade, maraschino cherries. Smooth on the palate. Lingering finish. Superb Rioja.

Supple and smooth with elegant perfumed spices, cherry and completely melded tannins. A truly sexy glass of wine.

Immaculate cork, plum, cherry, sweet oak gloss over everything. Good acidity, some tannin, some funk, a touch thin on the midpalate. Much better than my last bottle but I still think this is starting to slide over the hill.

Based on the other notes, I must have the only good bottles. This is another outstanding example with aromas of blooming night flowers and dark, rolling flavors of roses, tar, licorice, and black cherries. The flavors ripple and play over your palate for over a minute. Velvety smooth and balanced. Phenomenal.

Disappointing for a wine that showed so nicely in its youth & hails from a great vintage. All dried out & old. I'm hoping it's bottle variation.

This is about as good as a good Tempranillo gets. It actually tastes more like a traditional Riserva than a modern Tempranillo: subtle and balanced oak and fruit. No bricking in the dark ruby color. Aroma and tastes of tar, licorice, cherries. Nice cut, with good length and ultra smooth tannins like a purring house cat rubbing up against your leg. Drink now, but will drink well at least through 2019.

Getting pretty rusty and dried out. A bottle at a friend's house recently was similar so I'm concerned about the further evolution of this.

No tannin. Fruity, berry, very strong but pleasant mold flavor at the beginning. Tobacco, slight cinnamon, cherry.

Youthful vibrant fruit still - very balanced and good complexity. Great rustic background flavours. Very very good.

Drink 'em if you've got 'em--enjoyable, but nearing the end of its life.

Last bottle. Lovely baby poo nose. Tannins non existent. All ready to drink. Slightly unbalanced finish with a sourish but not unpleasant tone.

Cindy's 30th Birthday Party (Chicago IL) : From 3L bottle. Half was decanter for 1 hour and poured back into the bottle, but was singing from the moment the cork was pulled and only kept getting better. Some cranberry and red cherry on the palate with very pretty rose petal notes. Beautiful texture on the palate with some nice spice and mineral notes. A very long finish. This was an absolute standout of the evening, and a great surprise as …

Mmmmmmmmm mmmmm mmm mmmmmm mmm mm ....good age to the wine gives it that nice leather, tobacco and softened tannins you might expect...initially musty nose blew off after 60 mins or so. More old skool rioja than I thought it would be ...especially after having more recent vintages of the Roda I.

Very striking nose, like violets. Not particularly recognisable as Rioja until in the mouth - international style. Smooth and velvety, still carried a lot of aroma in the glass. Fully integrated with a fair backbone. Plenty of fruit with some more earthy overtones. Good length, a very nice bottle if not a classic Reserva. Has alongside a more rustic Crianza, it stood up well.

Lovely vanilla spice on the nose. Palate of black cherry with vanilla & toast elements. A beautiful Rioja ready to go.

14% This has a rich full nose with minty black fruit. Quite spicy especially on the finish. Immediately I think of Australia but it isn't. A syrah-cabernet blend maybe? There's a slightly rubbery quality, so I guess South Africa as the character seems too match. I don't think I'd have ended up in Spain, less so Rioja, until many more options had been exhausted! Oddly the back label says 57713 bottles produced, but it also says this is bottle no …

The light ruby color of the Roda II and the Ostatu Crianza are very close in color. However, the Roda possesses a blueberry, espresso, and toasted almond nose. I absolutely love the creamy cherries on this medium-bodied, moderate tannin, light finish wine.
