Domaine des Marnes Blanches Savagnin Côtes du Jura Les Molates

Supper with Jan group (McLeay Street Bistro, Potts Point) : Waxy, citrus, a little minerality, touch of citrus. Medium plus intensity acidity, lemon, textured burr is coarse, a little alcohol warmth on the finish. <shrugs>

Good but not great. Quite light and fresh in the mouth with a classic apple essence, although it had hints of applesauce or roasted apples lingering in the background. Not really oxidative, but just a suggestion of something caramelised. I think it needed a bit more acidity, for my taste. Fresh and uncomplicated but lacking that zip that you always want from savagnin.
