Thick, black and jammy. Think blues and blacks all the way. Solid jammy fruit core, smooth and voluptuous Tons of blueberry and blackberry. In a really nice place. Velvety tannins, mouth coating, purple staining extract. Hit the spot on this day.

Nose of purple fruit, iron, and dusty earth. Plum and purple fruits fade into chocolate notes. Long finish with leathery but smooth tannins and black fruit, along with lingering dried herbs. Forgot to score it.

Dark fruit, Chinese five spice, garrigue and a hint licorice. Expressive but balanced. Layered in the aromatics and palate. There may still be some upside to this, but it is drinking well with an hour decant. Good juice!

Nose of blue fruits, violets, and other floral notes. Black fruit is both sweet and dry and is infused with spice, gingerbread, and dry herbs. Pliable but chewy tannins on the finish suck themselves into huge oak and charcoal, followed by sage and black fruit. Big wine - it could hold but at this age it stil has the sweet fruit for balance.

Dark fruits glide across the palate with a silky texture. A light touch of oak is present adding spice to the fruit. This wine is clearly in a sweet spot today, but there is still a long drinking window ahead.

Nose of black plum and iron. Rich black fruits, dark chocolate, and loads of dried herbs coat the tongue. Layers of long but firm tannins with old oak and tacky black leather.

Nose of black fruits and lilac. Rich black plum, blackberry and cocoa flavors with a kirsch aspect. The cocoa continues on the finish with sweet black cherry, light pepperiness, and oak. Forgot to score it!

2012 Thomann Station is marvelous! Ran through Vinturi and let decant for about an hour. Deep inky purple, muddled blackberry and blueberry fruits with a touch of cedar wood and hint of mint. Delicious wine!

Nose of smoky black fruits, tar, and hints of cedar. lush black fruits come loaded with aggressive sage and dried herbs but add some black raspberry as it flows into a fat, oaky finish with coffee notes and chewy tannins.

Decanted the wine because of sediment, particularly around the cork and neck. Very nice after about an hour of decanting, although we didn't find that the wine had much nose. We also found that the flavor faded after about 3.5 hours in the decanter.

Great dark fruit, nice tannins, light oak mix well with good complexity on palate. Great finish. Drinking well now and probably at the early end of its drinkability.

Decanted for 45 minutes and enjoyed with pizza. Blackberry, plum, lavender, menthol on nose. On palate, blackberry, black cherry, plum, black licorice with medium acidity, sweet tannins and a long ifinish. Very easy to drink and one of the better (if not the best) Petite Sirahs/Syrahs that I have had in a while. Starting to throw some sediment but no rush to drink this one. 92-93 range. Will buy again.

Decanted 90 mins ahead. (A bit of sediment, which I take to be a good sign.) Very deep purple, almost black. Black things also frequent the nose, which includes black pepper, black fruits, and blackened meat in an attractively dark melange. Currant and blackberry flavors drive the palate, atop firm acidity. Finishes with strong but velvety tannins, licorice flavors, and moderate grip. This Petite Sirah is the real deal. The winery is a bit slippery about the grape source, saying …
