Much better than my notes from a couple years ago. Seemed more middle of the fairway profile with good flavors and some secondary notes. Tannins in line. May get better yet.

Still with modest fruit, but minimal tannins. Nose going away though, so not much more time. Very nice finish of dried currant, touch of tobacco

Just a superior cabernet sauvingnon. No detailed notes beyond that.??

Decanted 20 minutes at restaurant: Nose: white pepper, eucalyptus, blackberry, faint notes of bell pepper and granite Mouth: big blackberry, a delightful roundness from the barrel, tannins are present, but softened slightly Finish: long, with bright fruit notes and just slightest hint of barrel vanilla.

This wine is 25 years old and it is beautiful. It comes from a vineyard in the St. Helena district known for its small yet intensive grape clusters. Its dark fruit was both aromatic and rich yet elegant. There was just a hint of sweetness in it. And, it had a long, long finish. This wine has more good years ahead. But, tonight, it was the WOTN - nosing out a 2011 The Cornerstone Napa Cab for that honor. The …

My first taste of this vintage/cuvée. Kind of disappointing. Good flavor, But very monochromatic and simple. Maybe it will get better with age, but right now, this is not worthy of the price or history.

At the pnp, heavy on the oak and tannins. Needed about 60 min of air to come around. Got even better at 2 hours. Quality cab fruit, briar, earthy mushrooms. It evolved into quite the wine and went perfectly with a meat lovers pizza.......

Big cassis driven wine...fruit dominates but it stops short of being a jammy fruit bomb....very good Cabernet

Stock standard high quality masculine Napa Valley Cabernet. Which is absolutely a good thing.

Decanted for 1 hour. Absolutely wonderful. Very concentrated with hints of cherry, vanilla, pepper and a long finish. Soft on the palate. This bottle is significantly better than the one I opened about a year ago. Can’t wait to open up another bottle!

Good solid cab. Seemed to lose a little as the night went on though.

Opened three hours before dinner. Dark fruit on the nose. The palate was dark berries, plums, fig, cedar and a hint of spice. A long smooth finish.

During PNV week, tasting of the 10 cs lots hosted by Whitehall Lane, nice opportunity to taste their finished wines. Last wine tasted from their flight Ripe and lush nose - dark fruits, vanilla, oak....Palate repeats dark fruit flavors with baking spice. Long finish. More ready now than most of the 2012s I have had, seems to have a good arc in front of it if you want to cellar. Nice stuff...

This is a lush wine right out of the bottle. Dark fruit, mint, spice and some vanilla on the nose. Incredibly well balanced on the palate with bursting dark fruit but enough acidity and tannin to make it a good food wine. Long pleasant finish dominated by mint and eucalyptus. I know they say that this wind should wait, but I found it to be showing well right now with no decant. I had this with chicken Parmesana and it …

Decanted 1.5 hours. Graphite, vanilla some cassis and blackberry on the nose. Dark fruit, though as others have said, somewhat faded. Great balance. Paired well with a lasagna. The finish has almost sweet blackberry and is nice and long.

Ripe and spicy, really good Rutherford Cabernet. Intense, with good structure and power, balanced though.

Ripe plum and other dark fruit, spice and pepper. Smooth and medium bodied. Drinking nicely ~ a good pull from the cellar on a Wednesday night!

WOW.!!! Still showing absolutely fantastic, perfect time to drink. Smooth supple beautifully balanced and showing no signs of age. Fruit, acidity and supple tannins make this a seamless wine from a consistent high quality producer.

Deep garnet color. Big nose with red plumb, slight tobacco and mildly smokey. Leather aroma also present. Tastes amazing. Very smooth, very soft tannins. Rich flavor with a lot of depth. Tasted great right after opening, but developed more flavor after decanting for about an hour.

Prototypical 2005 vintage cab. Terribly disjointed and harsh. Very, very overpriced at $100 retail. Probably a $35 value.

Tasted on opening. Big and tannic. Decanted 3 hours and it opened up and was quite a nice wine. Deep purple color. A very extracted wine throwing a bit of sediment.

Interesting, because this bottle has a glass cork. The wine was good. We finished the bottle over the evening. Reasonably good bouquet; finish was "okay." Not a super quality wine, but certainly rates considerably better than most resturant and bar wines by the glass.

This wine has a decent fruit profile underneath a huge mouthful of cheap oak. Yet another Livermore winery practicing an oak fetish. Cherries, currants, and damp earth play 2nd fiddle to Big Wood. Alcohol burns on the fairly tannic finish. Not recommended.

WS has it right -- nice fruit up front, but the finish dries out. Nevertheless, this is a nice wine, but past its peak.

7/08 Strong overpowering unresolved tannins - tobacco - leather - cigar - hints of fruit masked behind the wall of tannins - way off balanced but show layers and complexity - openend up 180 degrees after 2 hours - tannins resolved and fruit flourished. 92 pts .
