Peter Lehmann Riesling Dry Portrait Eden Valley

Crisp, vibrant and lime-laced.

Fresh and zingy - as is the case sometimes with Eden Valley Rieslings, a bit on the astringent, side so suggest choosing food to go with it carefully.

By the glass at Oinoscent, Athens. Just opened bottle. Had we had this blind we would have said old world dry Riesling probably from Austria. Soft petrollly, toffee nose, a clear give away on the grape. Bone dry. Firm, bright and young still. Fresh, bright and zingy acidity, very well structured and a proper little number. Lovely stuff just entering its drinking window and with lots of life ahead.

Pale and clear. Nose of lime and lemon, flavours are the same but with a nice mouth fill so not mouth puckering acidity. I've had this wine before and a bit of bottle age really makes a difference. Food but will get better.

Really good price for a super-classic Riesling from the Clare Valley - this is layered with cliché. Lots of punchy, lean fruit with notes of crunchy apple and minerals - super dry on the finish, really excellent mouthfeel with a lot of character. Very very good value.

Excellent southern Riesling, but with a dryness that they sometimes do not have. Again very good value.
