This wine is still singing, consistent w/prior notes. Crushed a whole battery of similar area and price point wines tonight. Not a Cali fruit bomb, restrained and smooth, drink soon.

This is an excellent Meritage and agree with CT user Motz below. I also agree that this should probably be drunk in 2012 and no later than 2013.

I tasted this along with the full flight of Topel wines in June of '11. I thought this was the best. I drank this against a Clos Marsalette 2006. The Topel offering destroyed the Bordeaux on taste profile, complexity, and finish. Even the concentration was better. This is significant because I prefer terroir driven, earthy minerally wines. The Topel wine was great upon opening and improved through the second day, as long as it lasted. Though clearly a fruit forward …

Deep, dark purple. Nose gives off black cherry & olive. A mid-weight softer style wine. Nice flavor. The 10& Petit Verdot is very noticeable. Not terribly complex and a fairly short finish. Probably best to drink this within the next 9-16 months.
