Franco Molino Barolo Villero Riserva

Evolved somewhat over 2 hours in carafe. First impression was ripe dark cherries with cocoa and quite stingy acidity, sandy tannins, good length. With time cocoa and coffee notes became more apparent, more blue fruit as well, tertiary notes of fudge, licorice, sloe, sage and white pepper. A soft garnet in the glass with flashes of rust at the edges. Truffles, sticky toffee, and coffee cake on the nose. Good complexity and medium tannins with a full mouthfeel. Cured meats, candied orange peel or caramelized sugar, little bit of black pepper on the palate.
