Haywire Pinot Noir

Drank with the Hayley’s and Brydons at Donand Diane’s. Enjoyed. As Wendy noted a Smokey undertone , probably related to the 2017 fires.

2018 Haywire Pinot Noir (Okanagan) Pale ruby in the glass exuding red licorice, cherry, mushroom and cola. More of a lighter fruity style, almost briny, with gobs of cherry and raspberry, sprinkles of clove and cinnamon but also a wring of Burgundian undies. Hence this wine straddles both the Cali candy Kool-Aid and Burgundy barnyard styles. Overall, a tantalizingly tart and tasty tipple with soft tannins and good length. Take your day higher with this Haywire.
