Dark cherry and blackberry, earth, and some spice on the nose. Nice acidity and not overly fruity. Soft tannins. Pleasant finish. Great value at $13.00. I’ll buy more.

Was expecting the worst here, so pleasantly surprised by the balance of fruit, tension, mild forest floor funk, and spice. Impressions pretty consistent w/positive CT comments and WA90 / WS91 TNs. Nice value play here, and if it was cheap syrupy plonk I'd certainly bash it, simply not the case with this bottle.

Looking at this family's website, they certainly seem to have their hearts in the right place, yet the most recent vintage of the century seems to have capsized, not lifted this particular raft. 3 days in and this is still syrup, not wine. Honestly, I'd forgotten how bad wine can be. I'm sure there are mafia boiler rooms where enslaved Albanians fake the big Bs, but how can there be enough margin in repacking Aussie plonk as 12 dollar dolcetto …

Easy drinking blackberry and cherry over earthy tones and fine tannins that lengthen the finish. Much better than many dolcetto that tend towards grapiness. My bottle lacked the Yellowtail characteristics that others have noted. This may be my favorite dolcetto.

Just like my other bottle, this was just strange to me. Syrupy and real pronounced fruits, almost sweet. Almost felt like drinking a Yellow Tail. Maybe it was the vintage? I have had this wine in the past and found it to be a great QPR. This one is just don't get.

Almost Australian Shiraz like in mouthfeel upon opening which was interesting. I have had other vintages of this, and had not had that experience with this wine. Deep in color, raspberry and blackberry notes. The rich mouthfeel calmed a bit after about an hour, but still, interesting for a Dolcetto.

$24 / bottle Wakefield Wine Cellar Wake Forest NC. Light and smooth- black cherries and currants with an herbal undertone and hints of earthy funk to remind you of its Italian heritage. Slightly tart mid-palate that evens out into a leathery-red cherry skin finish on the fade. Very enjoyable. Lighter style but enough weight to hold its own with chicken parm and bolognese. A+ (97) restaurant purchase, especially on Tuesday when bottles are 20% off.

I agree with all of the positive notes and descriptions below. Drank at an Italian restaurant with lasagna and fried calamari. I would disagree with the Beaujolais similarity, although I could imagine that some nice Brunello had been partly cut with some Morgon, if that makes any sense.

Beautiful violet colour, so translucent, you’d think it’s freshly squeezed blueberry juice (can blueberries be squeezed, I have no idea?). The fruit is crying for attention here – blackcurrant, sweet cherry, strawberry bubble gum, rose syrup and hints of Turkish delight. Spice-fruit combo in the mouth with a refreshing acidity, but not too expressed.

Rich red and black fruit. A little subtle spice, acidic, nice little tartness on the end. Medium bodied with decent length. It's not going to blow anyone away, but it is really tasty. It's is always a great value and perfect for Italian food, and plenty of other types. Not quite as good as the '15 but it is right there. The low early scores makes me glad I waited.

Delicious, fruity and acidic, ready to drink, supported by supple tannins. A solid wine, the tannins become a bit grippy over time. Hits my palate in this order, acid, fruit, tannin in close and harmonious sequence. This is a big wine, purple tongue and mouth coating, a great value. Respect for the several previous reviewers who converted these many flavors into words, bramble and all. I appreciate that skill.

Medium nose shows pomegranate, red cherry, cranberry, white mushroom. Palate matches with tart profile, more structure than expected, medium or higher tannins, nice backbone overall, fruit shows in finish amongst that, nice food wine.

Dag Duft: Friske røde frukter Smak: God syrlig frukt. Nesten friskere enn i går Må sikre meg mer!
