Rundt 90 p.

Yellow melon, white peach and butter with a reductive flint on the nose. Palate of pale lemon, pear, yellow melon with some white flowers. Lovely depth of fruit for a Bourgogne. Gunflint smoke on the finish. Lovely.

Good with with BBQ (Schur House - Riverwoods IL) : Rich while easily well balanced. Very good for its level.

Dinner at avec River North (Chicago, IL) : Solid stuff. Not particularly characterful as far as Ramonet can be. Good, clean chardonnay showing some of the fullness of the vintage.

Lemon and apple aromas with a faintly floral start. Fun now with slightly riper flavors and good weight for its level. Good now.

Light yellow with green tint. Lemon, cedar and butter. Lots of tension on palate initially. 30 minutes later, fruits opened up and palate all smooth, fresh and balanced. Long astringent finish. I would have guessed a premier cru if I had tasted blind. Oyster Bar did not have proper stemware. We regretfully had to use regular water glass to drink this bottle. My tasting notes might have been different with proper tasting glasses.

A seriously good entry level white Burg. True to the Ramonet style: fresh, flinty, lime and minerals. Wonderful length. 1er Cru quality, wow!

Night at Ravinia (Highland Park, IL) : Lemon and apple with good weight for its level. Slightly simple, but still excellent for its Bourgogne level.

Monday Burgundy Cellar Visits - Albert Morot, Méo-Camuzet, and Ramonet (Cote d'Or) : Tasting at the domaine. Lemon and apple comes across as very bright with excellent weight and length for its level.
