Domaine L’Or de Line, Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2012: This wine has evolved significantly over the past couple of years. Ruby bordeaux in color, the nose features leather and smoked meat, some barnyard funk, ripe blackberries and tar. Medium in body with a silky texture, some notes of earth, wet forest floor, ripe cherries, strawberries, graphite, a bit gamey, slightly hollow on the mid palate. This Châteauneuf (Rhone Valley) is a classic GSM blend, Grenache (Noir), Syrah and Mourvèdre to which the winemaker may have added a bit of Grenache Blanc, one of the 2 only kosher versions available (together with Vignobles David Les Masques).
