Definitely a food wine as this is a bit harsh on its own. Smells like the cellars of Alba. Day one worked perfectly with oxtail alla vaccinara. Day two tried the rest with a pork chop (before switching to a pinot) and it was also a perfect pairing, with the acidity cutting through the fat.
