Orion Wines Primitivo Terre di Faiano

Enjoyed this a lot. Was a little apprehensive with the 14% but decanted for half an hour and with a bit of glass swirling got unmistakable liquorice and mint right off the bat, blue cheese after a bit. Definite cherry and vanilla. A bit of acidity for sure, possibly still a bit young, and good grippiness for something so light. Will keep an eye out for this again, and maybe buy a few bottles to see how it grows old.

Dark ruby colour. Dark fruits on the palate, blackberry, blackcurrants, cherries with some oak spices, touch of vanilla, touch of cinnamon. Very little in the way of tannins and not a lot of acid either making it very smooth. Easy to drink and excellent value when you get a deal, always keep a bottle or two of this around.
