Complete Vertical Tasting of Kellers's G-Max 2018 (Vendome Bergisch-Gladbach) : Complete vertikal tasting of G-max 2001-2016 with Klaus Peter and Julia Keller in Vendome. Drank them semiblind. Just short cuts. The most controversy wine of the day. I like it, spicy, phenolic because of the late harvest and long maceration with particulary stems. This wine will gain in the future in my opinion. Even the Keller's are not convinced. we will see. 95+

Complete Vertical Tasting of Kellers's G-Max (Cordobar Berlin) : A cold year, very lean in nose and palate, not so precise as 2001 and 04,the finish is very pure but after some time and air it develops a nice elegance, a good potential, similar citrus notes as 2001

Massive wine. Intense structure, vivid acid. Everything in place, but not quite approachable yet. This took a 12 hour decant, but needs more time still. Can't wait to revisit.

2008 Riesling G-Max, Weingut Keller: 100% Riesling. Von den anderen Jahrgängen etwas abweichendes Aromenprofil. Bienenwachs, gelbe Blüten, Zitronenverbene, getrocknete Kräuter, Limetten. Am Gaumen etwas rauer als in anderen Jahrgängen, sehr tief, leicht phenolige Noten (etwas adstringierend), dezent vegetabile Noten, braucht viel Luft, hat Zug und Grip, pikante Säure, feine Bittertöne, britische Orangenmarmelade. Im Abgang ein klein wenig austrocknend. Der Wein wurde 48 Stunden auf den Rappen vergoren, um auf natürliche Art und Weise die für den Jahrgang typische, erhöhte Säure …

This wine accompanied a ceviche of belly loin of salmon and was utterly sublime. It is not often one gets a chance to drink a wine where it is in perfect balance with the dish served. Some petroleum on the nose was extended into the mouth as the wine was sipped bringing a wondrous quality to the rock driven taste of K-P's most magnificent wine. The G-Max is without competition the best dry Riesling I have ever had. Despite some age, the wine still needs a serious decant of about 3 hours. The nose first offers an abundance of premium minerals, actually the nose is so fully packed it is reminiscent of standing at a gas station with a lot of petrol fumes. Rieslingfeier - BYOB Main Event (Rouge Tomate, NYC) : A broader, more powerful expression of Riesling than the Abtserde and Morstein. I don't get this at all. 96 points by Bob. To me it tastes like a Sauvignon Blanc, and not a very good one.
