Minor VA at initial corkage - after resting the off gasses disappeared leaving a nice fruit forward red with a soft palate of dark friuts, leather, chocolate, enough tannin to give some bite and keep you going. Not as substantial a wine as I’d tasted prior but a nice wine.

Nose: Some barrel spice, with coffee and dark chocolate cherry. Red fruit definitely present, along with some herbs. Black currant, licorice, with strong herbal flavor and long finish.

Decently balanced in tannin and acids but the alcohol is running a touch hot. Medium+ body with rich flavors of black cherry, red cherry, black current and all spice. Day 2 was actually better... the alcohol leveled out and it was still delivering. To me this is a decent …
