Armand Heitz Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Les Combes au Sud Blanc

Saturday hangout at Domaine (Chicago, IL) : Pretty solid chardonnay with good acidity and freshness, though reflecting on my prior note I may have been a little more enthusiastic about this in the past. Ticks all the boxes.

Outstanding for the level. This is textbook white Burgundy. A modest amount of oak on the nose, but not in an overbearing way. On the palate, this drinks incredibly well. It's fresh, bright, and has more than enough complexity for the appellation. This has the breadth of fruit that I would expect from 2019, but the proper amount of acidity and generous minerality. I'm a fan and will be seeking more to add to my cellar.
