Quite oxidative and ‘winey’ in style. Poured double-blind, people guessed Selosse lieu-dit. Certainly an interesting wine, and one really mean for having with food at the core of a meal. My mistake with this and a recent ‘02 Extrait was serving them as starters, where they were really a shock to the palate.

Had heard a ton about this producer and we've been buying some of these for the last few years but have not actually tried one. So was excited to get a chance. Purchased at Hedonsim and then drank at the Ledbury. I had heard it was the next Selosse and while perhaps that was a bit overstated, can def see a similarity in styles that I enjoy. A touch almost oxidized. More flavors than you typically get in champagne. Very …

Disgorged in October 2018. Pale garnet, brick rim - almost looks like a pale aged red burgundy, albeit with fine bubbles. The aromas are mature with a strong kimmeridgian signature and developed fruitiness like old strawberry syrup. The taste is equally lively and mature, with delicate mousse, impressive concentration of flavour, and an enjoyable balance between the savoury/mineral and the fruity. Lots of fun here, and no hurry.

PNP into Kimura Cava glass (“Fruit” day): Medium rose colours with slight copper hues. Mature citrus and small berry fruits. Florals with some notes of dried herbs. Elegant spices. A little yeasty and oxidative notes but still good for my taste. Well integrated on palate, fully mature but not a profound wine. I would want a little more vibrancy in this. 91-92 points. 1 day upon opening (“No” day): Pale copperish. Very nice and vibrant! 92-93 points.

I heard this shouldn't be cellared for too long due to the low so2. But boy am I glad that I did. Although it is perhaps a bit advanced for the age, it's got the weightless elegance of a very good red burgundy. It used to be a white wine that tasted too much of red wine. But now it's a fine red wine with the lift of a white. Just brilliant.

Julebrus (rød) i fargen. Veldig god konsentrasjon, sitter lenge. Denne likte jeg veldig godt. Mye som skjer, men …

Cherries and raspberry on the nose. Intensely refreshing with a lifted fruit character on the long and balanced palate.

Deg. 17/2-09. Åbnet ca. 8 timer inden indtag. Meget mørk farve. Søde, røde bær, kirsebær, hindbærbrus, lidt appelsin og Campari. Smager bestemt dejligt, men for meget tutti-frutti-, rød sodavands-, likøraromaer for at være rigtig godt.

Served a bit too warm. Still stunning. Great energy, fruit and acid.
