So I bought a cellar; 11/12/2022-12/31/2030 : My second older Chateau St Jean in a week. Just a coravin glass. Deep gold. All butterscotch on the nose. Burnt caramel flavors, but a bit watered down. I don’t know anything about this wine, but I doubt it was intended to live this long. That said, 2011 was a Chardonnay year and it mostly holds up. I’ll finish this bottle.

Very enjoyable chardonnay. Good fruit, just enough oak, smooth. Drink now.

Very interesting wine - it is non-malo but oaked. It had a pronounced buttery taste and somewhat viscous mouth-feel. The flavor was kind of subdued but then again, I have been accused of having a dense palate. Very nice wine.

Same as before. Light, not much complexity but pretty well balanced. Hints of butter, citrus, apple.

Clear, dark straw. Apricot, honeydew, oak. Very low acids, very low tannins. Banana. Short balanced finish. Seemed like it was an oxidized bottle, so my notes might be a little harsh

Six nations tasting (Pyrmont) : Medium minus intensity aromas of peaches, cream, butter and vanilla. Perfectly acceptable if not a little anonymous.

clean, almost sparkly but still buttery texture. Full on the tongue with a rich, citrusy afterbloom. Simply delicious!

I'm not usually a fan of white wine but I loved this. The nose is excellent and the taste is very complex. I wish I had all the words to describe it but suffice to say that it had a lot of very pleasant flavors going on. Very different than your typical glass of white (for red-focused folks like me).

Outstanding Chardonnay, and a great value. Solid yellow gold and very viscous. Burnished. Nose is fat, buttery, oily, in the very best sense. Wonderful aroma. Extra dimensions. Big and rich but not ponderous, this just fills the mouth with really gorgeous fruit from one of my all time favorite Chardonnay vineyards. Lingers nicely. I LOVE this wine. 4-13-17-9: 93/100.

We received this in our spring cellar club shipment. It is a nice vineyard designate and the notes shipped with the wine indicates this is the 5th vintage. Color is straw. Nose is light, slightly floral. Lush viscosity with just the right balance of oak and minerality. Good value with our discount. We may just have to get more of this.
