Purple with slightly light reddy brown at the edge, nose of red fruits, stewed fruits, cocoa powder and leather notes, cinnamon. Sweet berry flavours, stewed meats, cured meats... mid weight, good acid balanced with mild, powdery tannins... a little hot on the finish, but the tannins and red fruit strap flavours linger... nice, good QPR. Interesting contrast to the 2016. 2nd night the tannins had mellowed nicely and, like the slow cooked ragu it accompanied, the flavours had melded nicely …

Medium ruby color. Aromas and flavors of smoked cherry, new leather, lavender, clove and paprika. Expressive and finessed palate, with nice red fruit ripeness and mulled spice depth. Medium-bodied with lean round tannins, nice offsetting acid and a little mouthwatering pucker on the finish. Nice, casual Southern Rhône red showing good region terroir.

I really enjoyed the 2016 vintage of this wine...the 2018, a little less so. Serviceable southern rhone blend but probably not much more. Less fruit and structure than the 16 but enjoyable nonetheless.

One of the best daily drinkers I’ve had during lockdown. 14% alcohol, easy drinking Grenache based southern Rhône blend from the telegraphe family. I actually prefer this to most CdP and Gigondas wines since it has the dark black fruit of the southern Rhône but not so overpowering that it bashes you over the head. Excellent qpr for this one.

Dark fruit with reasonable acid. Needed a bit more acid or tannin to be fully balanced. Delicious none the less. Pair with some bolder hard cheese.

Lovely nose of ripe strawberry, dried herbs, blueberry and pepper. Silky texture with grainy tannin in the back. Ripe red fruit attack, with an herbal finish.

This is a blend of 80pc Grenache, 10pc Syrah, 5pc Cinsault, and 5pc Carignan. Sweet fruited red berries on the nose. A touch of confection but also some darker fruit notes as well. Fleshy red and blue berries in the mouth. Nicely poised. Good value.

Dark, red fruits, a bit of carbonic maceration, more prettiness and some peppery spice, clean. A little gamey note adds complexity on the palate, chamois soft tannins. Okay.

2017 vintage

They're aiming for the elegant side of grenache. And they almost succeed. Strawberry, a little bit thin on fruit and balance (too much etoh, too little tannins), but impressive nonetheless. Tending towards burgundy-style. When they get it right I will stock up.

I liked this better the second time around. It's certainly a very good wine for the price.

Rather a strong, heavy, big blast of Grenache kind of wine. This is no kitten. It tastes like sun-based Provence or Southern Rhone. So, as a "house wine" it probably does not work because it'll overwhelm a lot of food pairings. Perhaps it is a red meat wine. I grew to like it quite a bit though, after a lot of breathing. Obviously well-made, with good grapes and juice. And offered at a fair price.

30 min decant. Deep dark magenta color. Dried raspberry, orange rind and cherry fruit roll up on the nose. Smooth, tongue drying palate with good acidity. Round tannins on the medium long finish. Amazing QPR here for $16. 80% Grenache

Wild, brambly character, dark plums, red raspberries. There is a green-ness that provides structure. Seems like wholecluster with some stems that didn't quite reach full ripeness? Wine has been open for 24 hours and showing a tad grapey at this point.

Strong strawberry nose. Bright with pleasant acidity. We liked it better on the second night so we recommend decanting if you’re going to drink it all on one night. It was insipid on the first night. It needs to breathe!

Pungent aromas of lavender, rosemary, French herbs and then red cherry. Medium+ body which offers up lots of flavour with sour, bruised red cherry, savoury grilled meats on the mid palate and a savoury, spicy finish. Complex, enormously enjoyable and fantastic value.

14% vol. Very youthful purple/ruby Very youthful nose: floral and pure, medium/light intensity. Gummy fruit, dark flowers, spice, caramel, blackberry and cherry: fresh and juicy. Palate in juicy and quite intense on the attack. Lively and vital, it has a bit of a frame, some dimension, chalky minerals and plump Grenache fruit. Sappy touches, ripe and easy.

Hmm. Dubiously light ruby hue for combining 4 super-heavyweight grapes: grenache, syrah, carignan and cinsault. It should be dark and tongue-staining but instead felt too bright—like they limited skin contact to make a smoother wine to drink now and then over-acidified with a pinch too much tartaric. It wasn’t *bad* and has some classic southern Rhone character—a few more years in bottle may also help—but at this stage seemed about 80% natural and 20% modeled as if they were trying …

Somehow seems less big than as in years past, probably as it was opened in conjunction with an over-oaked California temperenillo. Noticed good acid and velvety garrigue-enhanced flavors. I've always found this cuvee seems more in tune with the spicy burgundian side of CdP rather than the brawn of that appellation or of CdR. Very Good.

14% vol Light-mid ruby appearance Pretty nose of sappy red fruits, offering a touch of something more blue and perfumed. Showing some intensity on the palate, some density to the core but overall quite light. Not peppery but a touch of spice. Possibly a little short. This can be an awkward wine to taste young, and while it is attractive today, it doesn’t feel particularly special or impressive to me.
