Domaine Coste-Caumartin Pommard 1er Cru Le Clos des Boucherottes

Palish ruby red, hint of tawny rim. Cherrystone, floral fragrance, lovely. Med wt, rounded, good balance, soft but plentiful tannins, nice red and black fruits, some zip at the finish, sweet berries and light spice only barest hint of gamey development.

Fairly pale ruby, mature looking despite no discernible browning. The nose is full and spicy, with very ripe black fruit beneath, but no real lift or definition to it. The mouth entry seems quite flat. There is decent quality fruit and good balance, but no distinction to it. Quite ripe fruit and a touch of madeirisation on the mid-palate. Finish is a little tangy but not long. Condition was good and I don’t suspect the storage, so I assume this …
