On the brighter side from the Grenache with decidedly bright red berry fruit and minor earthy undertones from the rest. Medium bodied with medium but tart fruit finish. Personally, I wish I had drunk this 2 years ago. But others reviewed it better and feel it can age.

Dried strawberries and some Rhône varietal funk. I’m sure Tablas would say this could go another ten years but why wait? Perhaps the Syrah and tannat will takeover but I think it’s in a good spot now-youthful.

Rich red fruit and spice box on the nose. Slight spice on the finish with raspberry and rich cherry notes.

Great wine, decanted a short time. Smooth delicious. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. The body is medium/full. The wine has smooth texture.

We have tried and know that Tablas Creek is highly respected, but we just don't like its wines very much. This one is thin and lacking in flavor.

Very red fruited, in a unique way. Would pair well with earthy foods.

As of this writing date, we found this wine needed quite a bit of time in the decanter before it opened up to its full potential, which was absolutely delicious. Unfortunately we were through most of it before it found its sweet spot. I’d go for 90 minutes at least.

Beautiful blend of Rhone varieties G/S/Md/Counoise with a dash of tannic Tannat. Perfumed, turning spicy and herbal, but there is a core of succulent dark cherry, somewhat chocolated, fruit that stands out and carries through with perfect precision from beginning to end. Old world more than new. Long and memorable. 91-95

This wine keeps getting better, smooth tannins, some acid, great complex fruit flavors, good structure, a delight to drink with saffron, tomato fish stew of swordfish, monkfish, clams, shrimp and scallops, actually a good pairing as wine has enough acid to stand up to the tomato base, great sipping and a prelude to Drops of God, last bottle so on to next vintage.

Pulled the cork on this last night and was underwhelmed. Day 2 is showing what I would expect out of a Tablas in this price range. Still quite young, but the wrapper is blowing off and the Grenache predominate blend is starting to mellow and let the Syrah and Mourvèdre do their thing.

Incredible. Truly outstanding wine. Another bottle of this consumed at the holidays eight years ago was noted as "quite good, fairly ripe" over a couple of nights. Fast forward (*) and it is a great wine. Led by Grenache this vintage at 63% followed by near-equal amounts of Syrah, Mourvedre, and Counoise wit Tannat rounding it out at 6%. The combination is perfect with aged Grenache in the lead. I jotted down some descriptors. framboise, umami, balsamic, red currant, fig, …

Just a tremendous wine. Non traditional GSM with Tannat, but its 8% really adds to the wine. Definitely grenache dominant, but much more complex.

All the parts--36% Grenache, 28% Mourvedre, 27% Syrah, 6% Counoise, 3% Tannat--sing in a complex harmony. Rich and rewarding.

The TCV blogged this one right on. This wine is drinking perfectly right now. A little life left, but I would drink up. This is so well balanced right now. Nothing missing, nothing prominent.

This a very good wine, second bottle with similar reaction, complex, dark color, balance, the grapes in the blend play off each other like a jazz quartet, medium body, smooth tannins, medium acid, great structure, 14.1 abv, will drink again, drank with NJ strip steak,

Really good stuff, dark color, slight nose, great balance, fruit and tannins just combine beautifully, the grape blend gives the complexity, from the first sip onward it was a joy to drink, drank with grilled rib steak, broccoli, sweet potato and salad, will drink again.

Has lost a lot of its complexity and fun in the bottle, indicating it’s either closed right now or heading over the hill. Cellar stored since release and splash decanted prior to serving. Notes of cola, blackberry and a bramble finish. Nice enough. But I’m neutral on this one.

Quite big and rich for a Tablas but very well put together. So many of their '12s are excessive but the En Gobelet avoided this. Mix of ripe brambles, fat texture but with just enough brightness to keep things in check.

Light red fruit -- some strawberry, sour cherry, a little mint and subtle herbs. It dances a bit on the palate on the back end. I found the nose to be somewhat minimal, and overall, while the wine is smooth, I don't feel like there's enough going on here to justify the price point.

Drinking really well right now. TCV Vintage charts ays to age more. I think it is great now. Interesting blend with Tannat mixed in with classic Rhones.

Medium color and body. Old world style. Some bright red fruit (strawberry) but a little on the dry side. Pairs well with rich chicken dishes (braised or roasted chicken thighs, etc.) but too light for steak and too heavy for fish. I recommend drinking in the next couple of years.

This is usually one of my favorite TCV blends. I do not know if it is going through an awkward phase, but it just is not doing it. This is the second bottle in a month that I have felt the same way. For now, I will let these age a bit before opening another.

Like most all of the '12 Tablas reds, this wine comes across as a bit stewed and less bright that is typical. It seems VA was a bit of an issue in the cellar. The alcohol at 14.2% is typical of the En Gobelet, but with the VA I worry about where these wine will go with age as the fruit diminishes.

On the nose red fruits, new leather, hint of menthol/eucalyptus. Lush mouthfeel, medium bodied, nice weight and good ripeness. Flavors of red fruit, earth, minerals. Then finishes a bit clipped and some drying tannins emerge along with racy acidity that keeps the wine interesting. Showing very nicely. If you got 'em, I'd drink 'em.
