Opened and served at our Christmas party. Drinking well out the gate, but can also benefit from time in the decanter. Red cherry, blueberry notes with some dried herbs. This is actually Château de Sarenceau from 2009, judging by the cork. Amazing QPR at $15. 90 points.

opaque medium ruby with garnet rim. moderate intensity of aromas and flavours. a bit of funk, drying red and black plum, herbaceous notes, whiffs of violet and vanilla, leather and dark soil. dry, with plus body, acidity and somewhat grainy tannins that are rather drying. herbaceous entry leads to brief, savoury juiciness that is promptly snuffed by the tannins. less complex in mouth than the nose would suggest and moderate length. judging by the other tasting notes, this may have …

30 min decant. Deep ruby, slight garnet rim. Nose is dark fruit, cassis, graphite, cedar. Palate is dry, dark fruit forward, chalky; medium+ acidity, medium+ tannin, medium+ body. Long finish. ABV 13,5%. Textbook RB profile. Lots of fruit and structure; classic vintage. Honestly flabbergasted at the QPR on this lineup. Almost didn’t want to review and share. Excellent quality 92

Based on the cork (which was pretty soft) this is Château de Sarenceau. For $15, this is an absolute steal. In a perfect spot for enjoying now. Back up the truck!

PnP. Tasted blind. Guessed left bank Bordeaux. Surprising structure and tannins for a 2009 st Emilion. Nose: some barnyard on nose. Dark fruit. Black plum. Vanilla. Some earthy notes. Palate: ripe black plum. Medium acidity. Decent concentration. 90. Solid QPR. Definitely punches above its weight.

This was a good buy for $15. It punched above its weight. Very tasty St. Emilion that was a good pairing with roasted lamb. Classic flavors. It's not a top echelon Bordeaux, but very satisfying for a table wine.

Good, but not a wow. Priced correctly for what it is. Bricking noted. Had I tasted this blind, I would have guessed rioja. As an everyday Wednesday nighter wine, not bad. Probably would pair well with steak or eggplant. I used a coravin, and there was some sediment in the glass. I’d give this a nice filter and 2 hour decant. Could age longer, but not sure what it would develop into. Drink.

I'm still in shock how good this is for the price. Approachable on initial pour, but some time in the decanter really helped. Slightly perfumed nose with red cherry, raspberry, blueberry notes, some dried herbs as well. Balanced tannins and acidity, medium finish. For $15, a Bordeaux with some real age from a great vintage, this is an absolute steal. Get several bottles of this and enjoy at your next party. 90 points.
