Miniere F&R Champagne Influence Brut

Light gold color. Mousse nose after opening but that withdraws quickly. Apple note on the attack, like a Blanc de Blanc, but there's a richness and real body to the wine. Medium plus mouthfeel. Light oak treatment adds to the complexity. Very good.

Second of two bottles. Disgorged 05/2016, dosage 5.5 g/l with a blend of 35 PN, 40 PM, and 25 Chard. Base of 85% 2008, 15% 2007. This bottle shows a distinct golden apple flavor, and a creaminess of that fruit. Toasty aromatic. Wrapped around all this fruit is a lemon peel, finishing zesty and minerally. First time with this producer and this cuvee. I don't care for the bottle shape as it reminds of Special Club, which are a PITA to store in my cellar. But, getting to the contents inside the bottle, this is unique and delicious. Lean, zesty and appley with a lemony finish, tight and refreshing,. Ends with a biscuit note. I enjoyed this because it drinks with a precision, a line of acid and cool austerity. $40, I dig it.
