Followed over two nights. Inky purple-black with massive fine sediment. Very pleased with the way this wine has calmed down. Sweet red and purple fruits, wet oak, and some sous bois on the nose. Still leaning to the primary side. Firm but approachable tannins and medium acid give this plenty of structure. Holds up very well overnight now, and should drink well for 8+ years. A really good quality wine for USD$18. "Very good," 88/100.

Aerated into a decanter for about 4 hours before it started to really open up. A gentle decant may need >6 hours, or slow-ox over night. Our patience was rewarded with ample purple flowers, red fruit, black pepper, medium acidity, and HARD, chewy tannins. Paired well with steak and grilled onions, but we will leave our two remaining bottles alone for some time. Revisit no earlier than Summer 2017. No rating yet.
