This 15 year old wine is argueably the best Montepulciano I have tasted to date. On nose: prunes, roasted walnuts, and mild Kona coffee On palate: all above flavours singing, with present vanilla/oak, still vibrant tannins frame notes of blackberry, subtle cassis and a ghost of eucalyptus. All displayed on a full flavoured, medium body....as it warms after a 2 hour decant, notes of fresh rosemary complete the picture.....great wine for duck, roast chicken and venison.

For the value, just fantastic. Some age to give it depth but still powerful and vibrant. Just a bit short but great other than that.

This is a very fine Italian wine. Excellent balanced taste, showing decent but not ample fruitiness, perfect tannins and very distinguished taste. Great choice for chateaubriand or roasted pork. Very good also with strong cheeses. One of the best finds amongst Italian reds!
