This is the fourth bottle opened in the last decade. Aging beautifully and while its not getting better, its depth is remarkable. Color still vibrant and body is structured and full.

Really pleasantly surprised with this bottle. Black currant and dark fruit. Delicious. A little pungent at first but not noticeable after 1/2 hour decanting. Oak/cedar but not in excess. Tannins completely resolved. I suspect drinking window is approaching a near future end. Drink up.

Currants and dark cherries, cocoa, leather, rustic but not over the top or even leaning French, just a well aged cab at a level you expect from this producer. Went fantastic with Christmas Eve standing rib roast

4th Saturday Group: Uptown Brown Bag (M&R's) : Double blind. Shows just a bit of bricking at the meniscus with a deep core. Aromas of burnt embers, black currant, singed balsa wood, forest floor and just a hint of funky horse blanket/barnyard. Intoxicating, complex bouquet. Medium-bodied with soft, near fully-integrated tannins and flavors of currants, black fruit, plum and tobacco. Adds weight as it sits in the glass. Feels very much like a middle aged Bordeaux; I guessed '95 Graves, …

This has aged gracefully and is fully integrated and seamless. The nose is predominantly sweet, though there are distinct aromas of smoke, game and blood. Blackberry, dark cherry, sweat spearmint, maple bacon and cedar smoke stand out. Though mouth coating on the palate, it remains medium-bodied with nice acid and almost entirely smoothed tannin. The flavors are sweet, salty, minty and smokey, though these elements operate in unity. While not incredibly complex, it’s entirely pleasurable and notable in its structure …

Disintegration of the cork..but the wine is still holding up, astonishing for the age but not the province. I'd drink now due to cork issues, too bad as I think with a proper closure it could last another 5 easy.

From magnum. Still very primal. This needs like ten years to develop some tertiaries. Also feels a bit hollow. Definitely not one of my favorite Napa cabs.

Still drinking well, cork fell apart, which has been a on going issue with this btl, if it had a secured closer This wine would last another 5? Not a big fan of cork so I'd drink m all.

Good effort. A bit too intense for my taste. RS may be a little high along with a good dose of oak. We couldn't finish the bottle.

Another Saturday at Knightsbridge - mostly blind (Northbrook, IL) : Tasted double blind. Somewhat woodsy and briary aromas with dense black fruit. Fruit seems slightly roasted on palate, but good acidity helps provide some energy, despite fairly firm tannins. I thought this older.

My fourth bottle out of five or six that I bought in 2002. This wine is at a perfect place right now. Very nice cherry and red fruit palate with smooth saddle leather. Tannins fully resolved and sweetened. Good dark color with no reddening. Popped, decanted and poured. No sediment, which was a surprise. Better that the 1999 Dominus we had three days ago. Better mouth feel with a fuller, smooth flavor. Outstanding.

Good mature bottle, but not great. Huge cedar, dirt, ash and alcohol on the nose. Little, if any bricking, ripe red fruits, mature tastes like cedar, dirt, some burnt toast with some dryness on the end. Good, but not great. I would say this only has about 2-3 more years.

This was a bit of a surprise how good this bottle was. This bottle is well integrated Howell Mtn fruit. It is a surprisingly smooth and well integrated wine that is probably peaking now and drinking incredibly well. This will really compliment any heavy meal that you are having!! Drink now to 2014 but peaking right now!!!

Smoking...good juice from the mountain! Juicy fruit, great oak integration, coming together perfectly. This wine is built to go the distance, so if you drank this a few years back...to bad! It will be ascending the next few years now until 2015-17, drink up babe!!

Drank in St. Thomas with Chris et al. Very good to excellent. Wine was a little warm. Nice depth, some complex and deep fruit, but probably needed more acid.

Opened and decanted. Nose and taste grew both smoother and more complex over time. Beautiful fruit, underlying earth and leather tones. Absolutely terrific.
