Canon vs. Duffau-Lagarrosse 2009-2020 tasted blind (Fribourg) : Encore wine with the Cheese and Charcuterie platter. Very oxidative, lots of nutty notes. Lean, not more complex than young Sherry really. Not a fan of this.

Just amazing how clear this is for its age. You could look at it and swear it's unbelieveably young. The palate offers resonating waves of chlorine like sherry wine, cleansing with with antique aristocratic raisin vinegar. The oldest drink Ive ever had. 1914. Wow!

No formal notes. Bottled in 1974. Notes of oxidation, spices, walnuts. Smooth, fresh, very long. Nice bitterness towards the finish. Certainly very fine but a little too dry for my personal taste. (90-92)
