Pick up a couple of bottles at auction. Garnet color. Good fruit, moderate tannins, relatively smooth - even better than 2nd night

Wow, what a surprise. This was a good bottle. Aged perfectly. Nose of cinnamon, tobacco, leather, and some cherry pie. Very smooth and enjoyable. Tannins are still lingering, but soft and subtle. Drink now and enjoy. DJV

I originally purchased this from the winery. I have to admit I was a little concerned about the age of this wine after reading some reviews. Surprisingly, it was excellent. Still alive and well rounded mouth feel. Color was vibrant showing no amber edging and tannin was softening. Loved it.

7.5 years since I visited this particular vintage. And past experience was En Magnum. This is starting to show a bit of age here. Nose of cinnamon and overripe and slightly aged blackberry hit the nose. Entry is aged blackberry with round and mature edges. Has lost its sharp tannic edge and graphite character. At this point, just a delicious, mature and perfectly balanced, integrated example of just how good Moon Mountain fruit can be. I'd start making plans to …

Ready to drink, lots of sediment, not sure I would wait much longer. Beautifully knit, slightly rustic, but very good overall, esp. given I paid $50 for it. Price has doubled since and I still buy Karen every year.

At a great place, no nervous energy. I will finish my remaining bottles over the next 12 months.

Smooth, well developed, a great match with sirloin.

Be aware the wine has quite a bit of sediment, worth a decant to both open and to reduce sediment. Tasting quite mature, I’m sure it can go longer but for my palate I would drink in the next year or so as I feel like when the remaining fruit fades that the tertiary notes aren’t as compelling. Nice acidity, mouth feel, black cherry, blackberry, baking spices. Enjoyed quite a bit with some New York steaks that were prepared very …

In a great drinking window, there is a maturity to the wine, some real nice tertiary notes while still has a nice fruit and grip.

Gave it about two hours of air. Fairly opaque. Pleasant nose. Delicious integrated complex and smooth red and blue fruit. Above average finish.

I guess I must like (and drink) too many young reds, because this wasn't quite as impressive as the bottle I had two years ago. Still fairly rich, but for me, it could have used a little more structure. Mostly cherries on the nose and on the palate, it doesn't seem to have added any complexity in the past couple years. Very nice finish, and, in fairness, it suffered in comparison to the 2006 Switchback Ridge served alongside of it. …

Really love the core of fruit on this wine. So delicious. If the wine was a bit smoother on the finish it would be completely amazing. As it is it’s a great wine that drinks above it’s price point.

In such a good spot. Lots of fruit to compliment sweet tobacco, anise, and violets. Lovely on the nose and palate.

Beautiful nose of black cherry, sweet tobacco and violets. On the palate it's a bit brawny, it's missing an elegance especially on the finish. Overall really good for the $50-$55 it's currently selling at. A great buy.

Aromas of dark fruits. Rich flavors of black raspberry, cassis and earth. Full-bodied and silky in the mouth. Drinking very well.

Needed about an hour of air before drinking. Smoke and black fruits on the nose. Black cherries, chocolate, and just a hint of smoke (my wife said "licorice") on the palate. Rich and silky, but the (good) finish was fruit-driven. After another hour, it really hit its stride, and the good finish turned into damned good. Plenty of (refined) tannins left, along with a healthy dose of acidity, so it still has a few years left and may even improve.

Decanted for an hour before pouring. Nose consisting of chocolate, tar, pencil lead, coffee and blackberries. Very soft tannins and well integrated acidity. We really liked this wine, I wished it had a longer finish.

Decanted 2 hours. Pomegranate nose with soft menthol. taste primarily of blackberry, black currant. Soft chewy tannins present but adds some intensity to the dark fruits. Overall solid wine but some flabbiness that just doesn't allow the wine to live up to my hopes

Big purple fruit favors with a green streak and some vanilla. This wine didn't wow me and was less enjoyable than the bottle consumed 1.5 years earlier. Don't see the upside in holding; drink now.

This wine is different each time I open a bottle, but always delicious. Still plenty of ripe fruit -- this bottle loaded with cherry and a hint of plum. Better after an hour to open. Decant to remove the ample sediment.
