Not sure what all the negative fuss is about. This wine was fantastic. After years in a professional cellar it has matured beautifully with a garnet color. The aromas while decanting let me know it would be good. Drank along side an 05 Margaux for context. The Vine Cliff was more linear with just one varietal compared to the Bordeaux but a great from start to finish.

I last reviewed this wine back in 2015. Now, almost 4 years later, the wine has certainly grown up, added some body and depth, but as with most of the other Vine Cliff wines I have had, I continue to be disappointed. It now reminds me of a Spanish fruit bomb, similar to a Clio or Alto Moncayo. Now that's not a bad thing but those are $40-$50 wines. For $150.00, back in 2009, this was a poor QPR.

Close to the end of its drinkable window but still good. Some sediment so filter.

Agree, this wine does not deserve a 84 rating as indicated in 2008 by one drinker. This wine should not have been consumed 2 years in, but aged. Nose black fruit, leather and tobacco, palate with pencil shavings/graphite and cedar. Nice balance, medium finish. Still has time to age.

At $60, this would be a nice wine but at $150.00, it is very disappointing. Decanted a few hours to be fair. Full bodied cab, with nice color. Not nearly as complex as I would have hoped but the finish is decent. Over extracted. I keep wanting to say something more positive but I just can't. Pass for me at this price

Been down on Napa cabs but liked this. Big wine, with well integrated fruit. Seems as if reaching a very good place.

Nice Cab. Nothing complex or over the top, just good fruit and nice balance. Not great QPR though.

Opened for a hallf hour before consuming, found surprisingly strong fruits and caramel flavors. Some at the meal thought the bottle was undrinkable as was but seemed better with food. After several hours it did calm down a bit more. Wait a few more years and try again....

Based on the previous rating of this wine I had been a little concerned that the cost might of much greater than the quality. Our tasting of this wine did not merit an 84 score at all. Both my wife and I feel that the overall quality of this wine is 90+. The wine had a ruby color to it with only a faint bit of cloudiness. The first aroma perceived was of a smoky to leather-like quality. The only …
