Il Colombaio di Cencio, Il Futuro, Toscana

A nice blend of sangiovese,cabernet sauvignon and merlot from Colombaio di Cencio.The bottle has been stored in my cellar since the release on the market.The wine exhibits a bright purple colour with violet rim.It boasts a very elegant nose with cherry,spices,tobacco,vanilla,the oak is perfecly integrated.The mouth is powerful with soft tannins, lively acidiy,good denifition and a remarkable persistance.Il Futuro 1997 has many years ahead this is a great value.

Not tasted at the tasting – two days later – Cherries with a woody, inky component. Moderate acid, showing some alcohol. Not dead, but just okay. Bit backwards.
