Lots of oak at PNP, blackberry and dark cherry fruit, medium to med+ weight, medium finish. Nose has a bit of leather, but not much complexity (and none expected at this price point). A solid value wine probably just a bit past its apex. Drink up.

A kinda big gutsy Cabernet character, and again, like the other Chateau Saint Michelle reds tastes acidified. Average in quality. Average in value at $20.

Dark purple in color with a short purple rim. Fruity on the nose and medium plus in body with medium acidity. Dry on the palate and fruit forward. Showing blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, spices, oak, vanilla and black pepper. Short finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries. This 9 year old Cabernet Sauvignon is past its prime, but still drinkable. A simple Cabernet from Washington State. Soft and smooth, but not as good as their Indian Wells version. …

Had this bottle as part of my first blind wine tasting. My first instincts lead me to thinking of a cold weather Cab Sav and I ended up giving the wine a final score of 85-86pts. Visually the wine appears medium purple with a bit of a deeper ruby core. medium viscosity with some thick tears that appear after a bit of time indicating a fuller bodied and slightly higher alcohol wine (I have no idea how to gauge viscosity …

Tried at Galleries Lounge (BA) in London Heathrow. Ruby color, nose of mushrooms and black currants, grippy tannins and good acidity, forest floor and chocolate notes and then cherries and black currants. A tad of oak and green pepper on the medium ending. Nothing terribly exciting but decent Cabernet-Sauvignon with some age and good structure.

2 hour decant. Berry fruits on the nose. Medium bodied and quite smooth. Soft mouthfeel. Very fruit forward with a tough of minerality. Short slightly drying berry finish. An excellent sipper too.

By the glass at the BA Lounge, LHR. Freshly opened bottle. Not much different than at 35k feet a few years ago, just not characteristic to anything and albeit has a nice secondary , leathery feel now stays at 89-90

Very dark, rich cab with a black fruit heavy but well balanced profile. The lack of backend acidity makes it not an especially interesting food wine. This wine will please both the novice drinker and the conisuer. ABV shows 14.5 but I think that's overstated.

This 7-year-old Washington Cabernet Sauvignon is still drinking beautifully. Deep Purple in color with a purplish rim. Strong nose and full bodied with medium acidity. Dry on the palate with nice complexity and a soft mouthfeel. Showing blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, light cedar, bitter herbs, vanilla, licorice, chocolates, tobacco, peppercorn and espresso. Fine grained tannins on the tangy finish. Drink now, by itself or with food. 14.5% alcohol by volume. 92 points. $20.

Honestly for the price not too many better in that $15 under Cabernet category at the grocery store. Sweet fruits, spice, minerals and coffee beans. Well made, massed produced wine. Much cheaper than Caymus and a better wine.

At 35k feet courtesy of BA en route LHR > Chennai. Freshly opened bottle. A blend of a black fruited rich cab sauv from a cool climate feel and a bit of American oak ( at least felt like that given the spice and a touch of coconut like Rioja oak) . Well round and welcoming and drinks well at this age and felt like it could roll for a bit more. Good but not great style of wine. 89

Nice dark ruby color with moderate legs. Cherry and blueberry on the nose. Smooth moderate body. Cherry, blueberry and vanilla on the palate. The flavors did not complement each other and the taste was rather disjointed. Moderately long finish that was somewhat sour. The bottle may be beyond it's time.

Needed a dry red for cooking so didn't feel bad offering this up. Poured a glass of the remainder and found it exactly as described elsewhere on this site. Fruity and lacking any discernable structure. Me: Meh. Wife and daughter: Mmm, that's good. Depends on what you are looking for I guess.

Dubious cellar found, tried one Coravin glass at cellar temperature. The color seems younger than 27 years with no brown around the edges. In the beginning some mature plum and cassis with some pencil shavings. The palate is fragile but slightly fresh at the same time. Speaks for the aging potential of CabSauv from Washington State. Not bad, but definitely for people acquainted with older wines.

Fleshy and full red, with loads of toasty oak notes. I know lots of folks love this oak character, but I'm not a fan. The oak did integrate to a certain extent the next evening, but the influence is still present.

Very dark, inky slime on the cork, which I found unusual. This bottle did seem a little musty on the nose and palate as well. Still drinkable, but I'll chalk this one up as a minor flaw.

Fruit forward and oaky. No sense of place. Decent not great. I have certainly enjoyed past vintages more. I’d much rather pay a couple bucks more for wines of substance Cs.

Soft, ripe, easy-drinking, and pleasing Cabernet. Loaded with vanilla with a soft and smooth texture. This has a "manufactured" feel to it, often seen in large production wines that are made to be consistent from year to year. This is well made for the style, but these wines really don't interest me much. Good wine to have around for parties with non-wine geeks, though.

$9 a bottle at Sam’s Club? This was surprisingly good! More appealing than some $30 - $50 sweet oak juice Cali cabernets I’ve tried lately.
